Guess MLK and the soldier represented in the statue have something in common.

MLK is definitely not a hero to his people. If he was, they would abide by his words of wanting to be judged by their character rather than the color of their skin.

The speech in which MLK said that is the one constantly brought up by his supporters as his #1 speech. I don't have a problem judging people by their character. However, blacks don't have a problem wanting to be judged by the color of their skin when it comes to things like affirmative action then complain when people do it.

Since you claim he said many, many things, do you happen to know what he said the moment he was shot?
