I don't know. I think that the final decision was Paterson's and he went for her because he wants upstate votes in two years. He may have set himself up for a bloody primary battle for that Senate seat though, which probaly won't help his own campaign. I guess that even putting Obama aside, it kind of makes sense that the Clintons, who are kind of topdogs in NY, wouldn't want a Kennedy taking over that seat, and building her own power base, which would eventually match, or surpass, their own.
Politics is really ugly stuff, and I'm amazed that anything that is good for the people ever comes out of it. I guess that is why it so rarely does.

Not you but thats what i was hearing on imus on the way in. Fred Dicker was on and talking about this article and pretty much laughingly disclosed that his sources were from the governors office itself.

That article is all about conservatives at the Ny Post jerking off over liberals getting kicked in the face by the Governor of NY. That's nothing new. That's what cons do, laugh at Democrats kicking liberals in the face, which is something Republicans don't do to conservatives, so I guess they have earned the laughs.
I didn't see anything about experience, but the article was kind of sickening so maybe I missed it.
he was more talking about it to imus this am. saying that liberals are using the no experience complaint.. saying shes just a baby and so on. im sure you will hear/read it in the days to come. If its true I find it funny because these same people were wholeheartedly supportive of Carline who never earned a thing on her own merits.

Darla, you're state is getting perfect representation. The majority of upstate new yorkers are conservative gun owners with average social liberal stances. What more could you ask for?
Gillibrand is just fine for her particular district. A true liberal couldn't win in that district. But that's also why this is a shitty pick. Now there is an open seat the Republicans have a good chance of picking up.
While she is fine for upstate, a Senator doesn't represent the a particular portion of the state. A Senator represents the entire state. New York is a liberal state and should have a liberal Senator.

There are liberal portions of even Southern states, are you whining over the ones who have two con senators? No. Because you guys never do.
That's how the Senate works. Congressional representation is by district, Senate is by state, and this is a liberal state, we would vote for two liberal Senators, just like many red states vote for two Con senators and no one cries but what about the libbberaalllllss.
