LMAO, Now the righties are complaining that no bible was used at 2nd swearing in

Exactly what conviction did he toss out? He didn't deny being a christian. He didn't go against any christian principles. He took the oath of office with Lincoln's bible, and then they decided to retake the oath to avoid any hint on impropriety due to the misspoken lines, and they didn't have the bible handy.

I think this is a prime example of making mountains out of molehills. I guess if this is the worst you can say about him, he is far ahead of the previous president.
Let me see, just from memory, he tossed Reverend Wright under the bus after saying that he was his moral compass or some crap like that; he denied an association with William Ayers after beginning his political career in the guy's living room; he denied any association with Tony Resko after the man gave him that terrific real estate deal; oh, and he tossed his "typical white person" grandmother under the bus.

Not in my lifetime......on the second one at least.

Re: comment about atheist or felon as the next minority to win.

Actually, you are not likely to see a devoted atheist winning either. Sorry, for those who are, but it seems to me like only Christians or those who say they are Christian win. I'm not saying that is a good or a bad thing, but it just doesn't seem to happen.

So, UScitizen, if you desire the Oval Office, time to suck it up and join a church. :pke:

Have I scored a point here? Possibly two for me since this is indirect.

I surely don't take seriously the claim of any pro-aborter that claims to be Christian, but you're blowing this whole thing way out of proportion. I tend to find many right-wing "Evangelical" Christians to be pretty weak as well.

Ok, perhaps I should be more specific? The topic we were discussing was the lack of a bible for his second swearing in. Perhaps you can stick with the topic at hand? I know all of the things you listed. And they were spread all over the media during the campaigning and he still won.

Um... Who cares?

I have come to this discussion late and didn't read all the posts so there is a chance someone has alreasdy mentioned this...

Theodore Roosevelt was not sworn in using a bible when he took office, and, to the best of my knowledge he was sworn in only once.

LOL, I have no such desire. Why would I want to wallow with pigs?

He can't do that....were broke! :clink:

Broke does not matter what is another 10 trillion in debt anyway.

I just thought of something though. If the govt is buying corp stocks in some of these bailouts, where are they getting it from? Are the corps just issuing more?

Hey, no reason for you to get nasty and call me a pig. So, I'm a little over-weight... okay, in my own opinion, more than a little but still there is no reason for you to get personal. :p

As for joining a church, well, there is always room for another hypocrit. I'll gladly make room in the pew beside me and my wife, but I get the outside seat!

What is it with people and the outside seat? My brother is the same way!

A Christian would be pro-life, and since he ain't, he obviously lied about being a Christian. *shrug*

Oh, so now you proclaim for all christians?

Considering that plenty of christians do not believe that life begins at conception, have fought in (or supported) wars, and believe in capital punishment, your claim is laughable at best.

So the ones that support abortion are liars too. *shrug*

Nothing un-Christian about supporting wars or capital punishment.

LMAO!

Oh ok, so selectively killing older people is ok but not unformed fetal material?

Interesting slant.

But I have no issue with Obama's religious beliefs. As long as he doesn't try and turn the USA into a theocracy, his religion is no concern of mine.
