It's just an extension of the same policy we have been pursuing all along, and for that reason, I don't believe this will explode into chaos and a nuclear confrontation. In fact, Pakistan itself didn't even bother to complain about it.
On Rachel Maddow's show last night, she said that Obama didn't even have to approve the missile attacks. Apparently the CIA just does them. He was told about them, but his approval was not needed. Of course, he could have stopped them. When he chose not to, he owned this, and the deaths which resulted.
And I don't support air strikes of any kind, no matter who is in office. I understand the argument that there are people out there hoping to kill Americans. But I support approaching it as a criminal matter, with the caveat that in certain situations I definitely support an execution in the field.
But never air strikes. And the "responsibility" lies with every American tax-payer, just as it always has. I was as responsible when George Bush was President, as were you.
