You know the answer to this...

Who is more likely to give you a hug on the street...? A liberal or a Conservative?

The only person who would do this is some crazy homeless guy - so the answer to your question is, yes it would be a liberal.
You're right I did know the answer.

Probably either a serial killer or a Hare Krishna.

Maybe it's just me but i don't normally let strangers hug me in the street.

Did I mention strangers...?

I guess I should have been more specific. Out of the people you know, if you were to see them on the street... would a more liberal or a more conservative person be likely to give you a hug.

My experience is that the liberal ones are more likely to hug me.

Go to Paris, many Liberal street kids will give you a hug, you may feel a little lighter after with no wallet but Liberals do this anyway, at least in the former case you aren't stuck with a lecture about how it's good for you.

If someone comes up to you in the street and gives you a hug is your first inclanation to ask them their political disposition?

How do you know these street kids who steel wallets are liberals? Id venture to say they are conservatives who grew up in the rough streets of Paris's suburbs.

Can you read, I am talking about people you know... thus you might already know there political disposition~!

Maybe you are right. Oakland, for example, is a very liberal city. Many people here are willing to give you hugs. They might take your wallet, car or life but they will give you a hug. Jarod does have a point.

Montgomery Alabama is one of the more conservative cities...

It must be that the guy who muged me was a conservative!

Again, because you seem to be slow on the uptake, I am talking about people you know!

If we're not talking about strangers then women are more likely to hug me than blokes, because i generally don't hug blokes. That's why we invented the firm handshake.

Their politics are pretty much irrelevant.

Just assuming here, no emperical data, that people tend to hang out with more people who are like minded politically it would reason those people are more likely to give you a hug because you are around so many more of them.

The phoney hug thing or a real Oh I care about you hug?

So many people do the fake hug thing anymore.

Hilarious! I even laughed out loud at that for the first time in awhile.

Damn those Conservative street kids of leftwing Paris in leftwing France!
I'm sure them street urchins are real interested in lowering the big tax burden they pay from their stolen booty.

Hoo man I can't take anymore, were you trying to make the silliest argument possible?

What makes you think I want someone coming up and hugging me? I don't want to be hugged like that. Hugs are reserved for family members. I resent being forced to hug anyone.

Since a conservative is less likely to force themselves on me, I would say the conservative is more friendly or at the very least, more respectful. :pke:

Immie

I'd say that the people in that church I grew up in were waaaay to huggy, and were very conservative as well.

While I do not personally enjoy much physical contact I am not indicative of most conservatives.
