While we can't do anything about solar output variances, the temperature of the Earth is unknown. We don't know if it's warming, cooling, or just staying the same. It is not possible to measure the temperature of the Earth.the thing that gets to me -and I dont claim any level of expertise - is that anything we do gets completely overwhelmed by the increase temps due to the sun
The entire square footage of all Amazon offices and warehouses is less than 0.01% of the surface of the Earth. What have you got against Amazon?Just or more important we should be trying to save our carbon sinks -just buy the dang Amazon and turn into a park.
Yet they do. Natural gas, oil, hydroelectric, solar, and wind generation are all renewable energy sources. It's literally insane to think energy dependent societies can make it on green/renewable alone
The Green New Deal is illegal. It's fascism.and we are giving up our hard fought energy independence with Paris or Green New Deal, or even parts of it
The basic problem with this whole kind of conversation is that energy markets are just that...a market. People will buy what energy source is suitable for their use. Prices are set according to supply and demand, as always. There is lots of a particular kind of energy source, so it's cheap. Coal, oil, natural gas, are all CHEAP right now. There is plenty of it.*random thoughts*
Paris Accord enables China and India to continue to pollute, while penalizing the west..nutz
Cleaning up your air, land, and water is not being penalized.
Here are the CO2 emissions per person for three countries.
USA 16.5 metric tons per capita per year.
China 7.5 metric tons per capita per year
India 1.7 metric tons per capita per year
On average Granule, you emit ~15 times more carbon to the atmosphere per year than a person in India

The 20 countries that emitted the most carbon dioxide in 2018
https://www.ucsusa.org/resources/each-countrys-share-co2-emissions
The metric that matters is how much carbon each person is emitting. It is stupid to compare gross, aggregate emissions between a country of 300 millon people against a country of 1.5 billion people
why does that matter? the atmosphere doesn't care about percapita
Indeed.
It appears that China is over performing with their pollution.
That is like complaining that California emits more aggregate GHG than Wyoming.
Carbon footprint per person is the proper metric. It tells us how efficient we are doing at reducing carbon footprint.
The fact that you personally annually emit 15 times the carbon of a person in India, means you have no leg to stand on to complain about India.
Total amount of pollution is what matters and China is over performing.
Don't try and project your decibel levels on me, pervert. I'm not the screamer here. You are. lol
Now, lets get to the rest of your idiot post.
First of all, you didn't link any sources. Where are they?
Second, you're trying to tell me that after all these decades of bullshit rhetoric and policies, you dumbasses STILL can't bring CO2 emissions to acceptable levels. What's the hold up? What are you perverts waiting for?
Third, one of you diaper dopers tried to tell me a while back that the reason China and Mexico haven't burned to a crisp is because of President Reagan's policies. You're welcome to go ahead and clean that nonsensical bullshit right up.
Fourth, you didn't answer my original question. How does the old pedophile rein in abusers like China and India?
You personally emit 15 times more carbon than the average Indian. An Indian emits 1.7 metric tons/yr CO2.
If every human on the planet emitted 1.7 metric tons/yr CO2, the climate problem would likely be solved.
India and USA needs to be part of an international effort.
But I responded to the claim that India is "abusing" its carbon contribution. That claim is utter hyperbole both logically and mathematically.
I heard that France is going to vote against enforcing the standards tomorrow, so there's that.
It is not possible to enforce the agreement. It is not possible to measure the CO2 emitted by any nation. It's all irrelevant anyway. CO2 is incapable of warming the Earth. You cannot create energy out of nothing.
