I've seen him be a stand up American Senator and I've seen him be one of the worst Ugly Americans in American Government history.

I think it's understood that Graham has to do this because Trump could have the RNC destroyed. They all know Biden is going to be sworn in, but Republicans just have to do this act to calm the buffoon down.

That means he knows Trump won't prevail, but he still feels the need to placate Trump.
And I don't see that ending just because Trump loses his job. Trump still has his following, they are not going anywhere, and the last thing any Republican Senator wants is to be on the wrong side of one of Trump's tweet-shaming episodes. Lame duck or ex-president, Trump retains and will retain a certain amount of sway over the Republican party. That won't end until he is convicted of serious crimes, or has to flee into exile.
