Do you really think that's the problem or are you just being pithy? I believe that most Americans wholeheartedly believe in democracy. I also believe that the two-party system has been manipulated to catastrophe. Money controls politicians. Politicians care more about reelection than policy improvements. The system is broken, but I still have hope in the American population (minus the Trumpists).

From 1932 to 1937 Joseph Stalin declared the 'five-year plans of atheism' and the LMG was charged with completely eliminating all religious expression in the country. Many of these same methods and terror tactics were also imposed against others that the regime considered to be its ideological enemies.

We don’t have a democracy. We have a constitution and a constitutional republic and some democratic institutions and processes.

Too many progressives look at the constitution as an impediment. They’re always looking for ways to finagle their way around it or turn it into a ‘living document’.

It’s an older article but the truth seems to remain constant. That as unbelievers age, many more of them become believers than the other way around. It is something I constantly research.

I agree completely with the article but the only thing I would point out is that the distance from religion by the younger generations is far far more now than it's ever been
