That is the problem. You cannot unify a nation if a large minority does not even want a democracy.

Not one illegal alien or one civil war veteran or one pajama boy hipster and a vote each for his cat and 2 hamsters. I want the genius of the electoral college to remain intact and inviolate. And I am damn sick and tired of electing "law makers" to make laws that are automatically forwarded to an activist judiciary.
