Does everything have to be spelt out for you? My only worry is that if Cuba opens up the Miami Mafia, Mexican and Central American gangsters will move in and turn the place into yet another hell hole like Honduras or El Salvador.

Cuba already relies on foreign tourism and uses American dollars as currency. I would assume it would grow from there. Hotels, Restaurants, and yes, maybe Casinos will dot Havana again?

Jack, I went to Cuba a decade ago for a holiday! Habana reminded of Eastern Europe in the 90's after the fall of Communism especially Prague and Budapest.

Cuba is still an enemy of the United States, not an ally. Cuba continues to provide support for State enemies of the U.S., like the Maduro gov't.

We use Trade policy to keep the threat small and contained.

That's been the problem....the place is too ratty.....needs lot of money to rebuild into something that the tourists will value.

That was a decade ago, There's a lot of investment gone into the leisure sector since. When I first went to Prague in the 90s the place was falling down, they even have covered walkways to stop falling masonry from killing people. It's now an incredibly expensive place anywhere in the centre.
 
Well, I've read every post in this thread. Bottom line, it seems to me, is that Cuba has nothing - Nothing at all - To offer the United States. If Biden does normalize relations with Cuba, Cuba will benefit. The U. S. will not.

Is it ok w/ you if they take a direct flight rather than costlier & longer routes to get there like the rest of the civilized & uncivilized world??

Good friends of mine were there for a month & had an awesome time & brought back some great rum.......

We have relations w/ China, Vietnam, Laos & our leader even visited NK..........

Times they be a changin...........

Are you claiming that money has been flowing into Cuba to fix things up because I have heard that it is not happening on the scale needed.
