As a result of the historical effort of over 80 million voters as the majority legitimately and lawfully voting against Putin's lap dog tRump, the uncorrupted electoral college this time getting the ball rolling at dismantling the lawlessly hacked in COVID-45 tRump atrocity that has conspired to covid murder over 300,000 Americans, and with federal courts and SCOTUS to back it up at defending Democracy against tRump and his sewer mob's effort to destroy Democracy. This includes republican judges against tRump who has been on a four year stint as a imposter or fake president in violation of U.S. Constitutional law. Banning the confederate rag on U.S. territory is also getting the ball rolling at finally finishing the job of destroying remnants that remain of the dead and defunct confederate insurgency, and a symbol that is used to engage in treason, domestic terrorism and anything else of a uncivilized and un American nature.

The governor said the bill "will help safeguard New Yorkers from the fear-instilling effects of these abhorrent symbols.

ALBANY, N.Y. — The sale or display of Confederate flags, swastikas and other “symbols of hate” on state property is banned in New York under a law signed by Gov. Andrew Cuomo despite concerns it may violate free speech protection under the U.S. Constitution.

“This country faces a pervasive, growing attitude of intolerance and hate — what I have referred to in the body politic as an American cancer,” Cuomo said in his bill-signing memo on Tuesday.

“By limiting the display and sale of the Confederate flag, Nazi swastika and other symbols of hatred from being displayed or sold on state property, including the state fairgrounds, this bill will help safeguard New Yorkers from the fear-instilling effects of these abhorrent symbols,” he said.

Will this ban include use for historical purposes or historical display say like in a museum? It sounds to me it's as much about erasing history as it is anything else...

Aside from that, shouldn't Cuomo be more engaged in trying to deal with Chinese Official Virus Intended for Death than this minor issue?

I completely oppose this ban, but this is just a stupid and bad faith argument.

I hope the entire U.S. regarding the confederate rag and the influences of the confederacy that the U.S. destroyed in 1865 takes on Germany's lead at banning the swastika and Nazi flag entirely in its nation that has definitely created a environment that promotes being civilized and patriotic to their nation. Allowing the stench of the confederate rag to be celebrated in America among a bunch of treasonous and un American creeps, is a threat against the U.S. flag that all states are subjected to and not the confederate rag that isn't fit to be used as toilet paper.
 
Almost as many Americans from New York died fighting against that flag as in all of the war in Vietnam..........

Many of the folks living in New York had great grandfathers killed as a result of the open rebellion engaged in by the traitors that waved that flag......

Sure these un American creatures are free to wipe their ass with the confederate rag, flaunt it around and do whatever the hell they want to do with it but it should be outside of U.S. territory as a despicable representation at glorifying and giving homage to a dead, defunct and barbaric confederate un American atrocity on humanity. Additionally the image of sub human and deplorable confederate legacy is poison on the social conscious that has turned many weak minded tRumptards treasonous and a complete failure as so-called human beings. Promoting and flaunting the confederate rag in America should also be considered a national security issue.

Agreed. IMO, it's mostly a distrust of government. What is seems strange to me is how each side trusts the government when it's to their benefit and they don't trust the government when it's not.

Lol, most New Yorkers are from people who arrived since the Civil War.

Except maybe Onion Town & similar areas.

Truth is NY is dominated by 20th century & late 19th century immigrants like Italians, Irish Catholics, Jews, Blacks, Puerto Ricans, Dominicans , Chinese, Mexicans. Poles, Russians, Albanians, Hindus etc.

The Irish Catholics who were in NY didn't like Blackd, either.

Like the Draft Riots.
