The Social Dilemma

I was actually thinking of doing something in here that I think would have a good chance of helping the two players involved but also the entire room. I wanted to pick someone from the opposite political spectrum of myself and just have a nice, question and answer type thread. Where we just talk,...like people, ask each other WHY we feel the way we do about things. But I want to do it with someone more reasonable so it doesnt turn into something its not intended to be. Just honest questions, and honest answers. I would also thread ban the rest of the room. Not to be a jerk,... but just to make sure something intended for good doesnt turn bad because of outside agitators. ANYONE can read...but only the 2 involved can post. My 1st choices? Bartender, lefty, or BOC. Either one would do fine. If any of you see this let me know. Im not doing a whole lot parts the next few days so it would be a good time to do it. Oh....and there will be ZERO little barbs or digs from me,...I would expect the same otherwise the purpose is defeated.

I use it to keep in touch with friends and family, I do not read articles or advertisements. If friends get too political, I don’t “follow” them. It is great fun to talk to old friends from my hometown and now Alaska.

Fine.....as long as you are willing to accept the scenario I laid out. To a tee,...the spirit of the "rules" for lack of a better term must be followed or it is simply a waste of time and I will put an end to it as fast as it began.

I want MORE than that though. The emotions involved. WHAT drives a person to think the way they do. ect ect...And in NO WAY is it a debate. Not its intention. No winners or losers. Like i say,....much more about why people feel the way they do about certain issues and what caused them to.....

cable news tends to focus on their core audience. all of them. but fox lies and distorts and has guests on that spew the craziest shit, without any blowback except for chris wallace and a few others. the real cable news media might ignore a story, but they RARELY LIE....big ass difference. and they rarely have conspiracy nuts on who say crazy shit like hillary had some guy killed and ran a secret pedophilia ring, and spew crazy shit about there being any real evidence of any real voter fraud in any election. that is all fox did for about a month. and they also ignored how dangerous covid was, and still do bitch about mask usage even today!! they are pandering to their low IQ, racist, cracker boy audience so they can get good numbers and sell more shit, even if a lot of advertisers have bolted from their crazy ass conspiracy theory prime time liars like bowtie and hannity and nazi ingraham.

It can be anything,...but not so constrictive like that. A more fluid conversation. More like....... What makes you such a strong believer in being self sufficient? What experiences did you have in life that helped that line of thinking take hold? More a WHAT MAKES YOU TIC sort of thing.

O.K...I can assure you my intentions are good,....if yours are as well then I accept. Have no idea what time zone you are in but I can begin at 4:00 central time. If you could set up the thread ahead of time that would be great as I have some running to do. Set it up,... and I will be there at 4,...would like it to last at least 1 hour. If that time does not work let me know....

My intentions are good. 4:00 CT should be fine, but I'll confirm as we get closer. This time of year is a real mofo in a professional sense. Would you like to restrict the conversation to specific topics or is this just a free flowing stream of consciousness between you and me? I don't know how to prevent everyone from commenting except for you and me, but I can look into it.

i have read real facts from real sources. i have watched fox let their guests spew the craziest shit for decades. fox and newsmax and other right wing media are not nearly as accurate as real media.
