Real Middle-Income Tax Relief

I did a quick reading over and didn't see taxes listed on every item. However his points where taxes can be cut are good ones.

It's the same old tired shit that has been trotted out before in new packaging. Six of the 12 are tax cuts. Then there's drill, baby, drill and a nod to controlling spending by eliminating earmarks (which would have about zero impact on spending). If this is sounding like a failed presidential campaign of not too long ago it should.

Then we have some standard fare Republican stuff (against Employee Free Choice Act, Repeal SOX) and finally stuff that we are already working on (Investing in Energy and Transportation Infrastructure).

It's not a matter of bad and good. It's just rehash of tired ideas and standard Republican fare dressed up in "non-partisan" clothing.
 
I'd really like to hear someone argue against changing the 25% rate to 15%.

Instead of having the government "pump" money into the economy how about we just leave it in the economy.
 
If tax rates have no impact on the economy, why not raise taxes to 90 percent? That is the logical conclusion of what liberals propose.

Because most of the money will be saved. It wouldn't be effective at getting us out of the recession. Going into public debt so that people can privately save would be absurd. If we are going to go into public debt we should either be fighting a war, or fighting a recession. Otherwise we should always run a surplus. And you haven't specifically lined out what programs you would cut to run such a surplus.

No, it is not the logical conclusion.

Tax rates ALWAYS have an impact on the economy. If they aren't used well then they are very damaging. If tax rates are too high you even start getting less money back than at lower rates. But a 25% rate isn't even close to that threshold.

I don't think the current or the former leaders of the federal government really care about running a public debt, recession or not. They're going to do it either way. The current leaders most certainly don't care how large it gets.

Also, as bank deposits goes up so does the amount of money banks are capable of loaning. BAM, look at that, more credit in a market that's having a credit crisis.

I also think that this money would be more effective if you DON'T run it through the largest bureaucracy on the planet, let alone the fact that its our money first anyway.
