Stealing government secrets is a pretty bad crime. She is 3rd in line for the presidency. I am an animal lover, but I can see what is worse.

OJ Simpson spent 1.5 years in jail without bail, waiting for a trial. He was found not guilty, and released. OJ Simpson stole back possessions stolen from him. Normally, that type of vigilantism would not be severely punished in Nevada, but everyone knew Simpson had gotten away with two murders, so he got a total sentence of 33 years. Because he was a good inmate, he was able to get the earliest parole after 9 years. Luckily for Simpson, no federal charges were involved.

I hate Michael Vick, but lets try to get through him without emotion. Vick is a truly great athlete, and he also ran a dog fighting ring which involved gambling. Torturing dogs should be extremely illegal, but is not. If they make torturing dogs illegal, it might make animal testing illegal, which we need for medical progress. So Vick got 2 years federal time, and 3 years suspended state(so zero time state) time for gambling. That is two years in prison, and both federal and state felony records. If he committed any other crimes, he would have to serve the 3 years state too.

Vick was able to make bail, because he was only charged with interstate gambling.

Yet, Michael Vick got bail & got a shorter sentence.

The sad part about the whole thing is that Vick was charged for being part of a gambling ring. The dog fighting was an aggravating issue, but the gambling was the crime.

Vick got two years for being part of a gambling ring. There is no parole in the federal system anymore, so that was two years. He has both a federal and state felony record, so would need two different pardons to get that off his record.

Is that too little of a punishment? I say yes, but the law disagrees with me. He got the federal guidelines.

Maybe you missed it but Russia put a bounty on the lives of our soldiers, did you miss that Russia just committed a huge cyber attack on the USA, and did so back in 2016 also? You might want to remember that Putin and Russia are not our allies and never will be, and I don't care what trump says, they own him.

I know all this, but because we are not at war and they are not a declared enemy the laptop is not giving aid and comfort to the enemy (legally).

In the 1950s the Soviet Union was much more of an enemy than Russia is now. The Rosenbergs ran a spy network and gave the Soviets secrets on our atomic weapons. They were executed for espionage (the first during peacetime). They were not charged with treason because we were not at war.

It was not fully peacetime. The Korean War was happening, and was mentioned in the court case. It was claimed that the Rosenbergs handing the nuclear bomb to the Soviets made them braver, and led to the Korean War, where 36,000 Americans died. There are several problems with that claim, but it was believed by the court, so the Rosenbergs were executed.

Simpson should have been on death row for his cold blooded murders of two people, only a fool like Bourbon would say otherwise. That bastard was let out on parole after 8 years for a sentence of 33 years.
