Does his weapon ban include Israel?

Is the US finally going to acknowledge that Isreal has nukes and are they going to be quantified?

If the answer to either question is No, then his attempts will fail.

Declaring the future of mankind at stake, President Barack Obama said Sunday in Prague, Czech Republic, that all nations must strive to rid the world of nuclear arms and that the United States had a moral responsibility to lead because no other country has used one.

We don't even acknowledge that Israel has nukes .. thus my questions remain.

Is this going to include Israel.

Find a comment where Obama specifically acknowledges Israel's nukes.

Top White House aide David Axelrod said the administration aims to create a nuclear weapon-free world.

“That would be the goal, to remove this scourge for the face of the earth and take away that threat that hangs over us now,” Axelrod said on CNN's "State of the Union."

While unilateral disarmament would be impossible, Axelrod noted, the president aims to lead a movement to begin the process of reduction.

“The president is committed to an aggressive regime,” he said.

President Barack Obama outlined his disarmament plan on Sunday morning in Prague.

Whats Obama plan on using for a weapon? the Genesis device from Star Trek II?

President Obama won't start any wars for oil based on lies. We won't need weapons.

Many would, if they got the chance. I wasn't very happy with Obama when he told his audience on foreign soil that America has been arrogant. He did just fine until he said that. It will come back to haunt him and it was an insult to the American people.:(

because everyone LOVES America, right? no nation would EVER attack us, on our own shore. :321:

Truth always seems to insult the American people.

America has been arrogant for the last thirty years+ and we need to understand that we aren't alone on this Earth. Our way isn't necessarily the best way.

We've been arrogant for a lot longer than that. Opposition to the Proclamation of 1763 comes to mind...

You don't think the American government (not to say the people) has been arrogant in it's dealings with the rest of the world after the aftermath of 9/11?

Amazing.

Generally speaking, froggie, I don't think it's an insult if it is the truth.

If someone tells me that I have aged in my appearance, it would be the truth, not an insult, although it would hurt my feelings that they said it out loud.

Mr. Obama did not misspeak. But, hopefully, when we are removed far enough from Mr. Bush's administration, with enough time, it won't be as true.

Who gets to decide what is the truth? If anyone is arrogant, it's this president.

I don't know if Obama himself acknowledged it, but the DOD has.

After years of ignoring the Israeli nuclear program—which was denounced in 1986 by former nuclear technician Mordechai Vanunu—the United States' Department of Defense has acknowledged Israel nuclear power status for the first time.

Israel has neither confirmed nor denied the existence of its own nuclear arsenal, but page 37 of the US Joint Forces Command report recognizes the fact, putting it in the same group as Pakistan, India, China, North Korea, Russia, along with an "emerging Iran," Taiwan, and Japan having "the capability to develop nuclear weapons quickly."

That still does not answer my questions.

Thank you sister.

If Israel is included in his proposed ban then I'm all for it, if not, I'm against it and it's doomed to fail.
