The idea is that people who come out of college with an educational mortgage will cripple them and the economy for years to come. They will not be consumers that spur the economy to the degree they could if they did not have that burden. College is way overpriced. The taxpayers are not going to pay for it.

I oppose forgiving principal as a matter of principle.

When you get a useless degree from an expensive school you get what you deserve. College is expensive because of all those people willing to pay the high prices- they equate price with quality. "Forgiving" loans is just going to make that worse.

But I voted for Biden because he said all along that he does not intend to pay off all of everyone's student debt. AND I AGREE WITH HIM!

I have a friend who told me his son was in his 5th year of college and "on the keep dad poor" plan.

This is a huge outright gift for the wealthy. Students who chose to go to the most expensive schools get the biggest gifts. Working class students who got loans to go to inexpensive community colleges didn't get the advantage of the better school and having large debts abolished.

Biden has the right idea. Everybody is treated equally. Government's job is not to make loans and then abolish those debts to the student doesn't have to pay them back. Only Trumpers would want to give the most benefits to the wealthy.
