I agree. The very reason we have this perverse admiration for Al Capone and love films such as The Godfather and Goodfellas.... we accept the gangster commit crimes and they always cite their twisted morality to justify it.
One scene in Goodfellas, also reflected in other Gangster crime films, is when they say: "Hey, da cops and politicians are taking their cut as well, they control the judges they are part of the deal" - et al. this is absolutely a factual statement. But we the people do not see a two-faced hypocrisy on the part of the gangster. They call a spade a spade, they fall on their sword. In fact all of them accept their prison terms and never complain.
We know politicians and police TAKE AN OATH - they commit to SERVE - they take the job on those terms paid for via our money (taxes).
This is why we despise bent cops and corrupt politicians (CLINTONS heading the pack).
Our sense of right and wrong is formed on what is good and proper for a healthy society.
Its not that cops and politicians simply do bad things - we accept anyone is capable of bad things - its that they took an oath and do not fall on their sword. They took the oath and continue to take the money even when acting criminally.
