Trump should be the last man a religious leader should back. In the long run, people are being taught lessons about what religion really is.

tax reform was across the board.
I can use the standard deduction now 2x (doubled) by Trumps tax reform. before i had to itemize

corp taxes were lowered to be more in line with world rates ( right in the middle percentile) so as not to be
uncompetitive to world rates

No, white Christian nationalism is not an actual thing.

But it’s trying to be made into a thing and it’s disappointing/predictable that some Christian leaders would fall for it.

Here’s and actual thing by comparison: Islamism. Islamism is the wedding of religious edicts with civil law. That’s an actual thing. Ask any poor bugger that had his fingers amputated for a petty crime in places where Islamic law has become civil law.

I’m a white evangelical Trump so I can speak to this as well or better than anyone. Please don’t tell me why I voted for Trump. Thanks in advance.

I didn’t vote for Trump twice so he could install Christian sharia. I voted for him because of his policy ideas and because of his *America* first nationalism. See that? Not Christian first, not God first—America first.

But putting America first means I will retain the freedom to worship God as others are just as free not to. Which happens to be the way God wants it.

But none of this has anything to do with border policy; with economic policy: with foreign policy or etc.

There’s something to be said for becoming what you believe you are and it probably applies to peoples/nations to some degree. That’s interesting, but Trump supporters are a diverse lot with respect to religion—or lack thereof.

Ask some of them about bringing jobs back and you’ll come away with a better idea of what makes them tick.

Averting the worst consequences of climate change is not saying the earth and civilization will end in 9 years. He is talking about the fact we have limited time to take effective action before the problem starts becoming close to intractable.

It is a matter of scientific consensus that if we do not stop loading billions of tons of heat trapping greenhouse gases into the atmosphere we are going to reach a point of no return at some point. Once you take petroleum based carbon out of its sequestration in the ground and put it back into circulation in the environment, the natural carbon cycle will keep it fractionating between the atmosphere and biosphere for thousands of years. The horse leaving the barn analogy is apt here. It is better to leave that carbon sequestered in the ground where it has been trapped for millions of years.

Whether the point of no return is 9 years or 20 years is quibbling over details while a five alarm fire is brewing.
