White supremacists on par with ISIS as ‘top threat,’ FBI director says at Captiol riot hearing
FBI has no evidence of ‘fake Trump protesters’ precipitating violence at Capitol riots.
The director of the FBI considers racially motivated domestic extremists such as white supremacists the “top threat” facing Americans, as the nation continues to learn more about such people who perpetrated the deadly insurrection at the US Capitol last month.
“The top threat we face from domestic violent extremists continues to be those we identify as Racially or Ethnically Motivated Violent Extremists (RMVEs), specifically those who advocate for the superiority of the white race,” FBI Director Christopher Wray testified before members of the Senate Judiciary Committee on Tuesday.
The FBI has formally elevated the threat from white supremacist groups to its top priority level, alongside ISIS and its network of homegrown terrorists, Mr Wray said.
To quantify the rise of domestic terrorism in the US, Mr Wray divulged that the FBI is currently working through roughly 2,000 domestic terrorism cases. At a March 2019 congressional hearing, he said at the time that number was around 850 ongoing cases.
When you lump American White Supremacists into the same category as ISIS jihadis, then you are referring to American White Supremacist paramilititary organizations.But I haven't haven't heard of any American White Supremacist militiaman terrorising the streets of the US ever. (Correct me if I'm wrong). Leftist nutcases, like "The Weathermen" yes; but not White Supremacists.Unhinged BLM Inc., rioters (who did billions of dollars worth of damage to property last year and were responsible for 25 deaths) yes; but again, not White Supremacist paramilitary divisions of any kind.
You might say what about the KKK ? The answer is "No". The Klan are a spent force these days, all they add up to is some tragic, overweight, middle-aged men who love to dress up in the old KKK regalia and refer to each other as the "Grand Cylops", "Exalted Goblin" or "Imperial Wizard", because they get a kick out of playing childish make- believe games. There are no lynching, house burning gun totin', old-style Klansmen in America anymore. If there were you would know about it.
Then, of course, you could say,"What about the neo-Nazis"? Well, there are some very small neo-Nazi organizations in America like "Atomwaffen Division" or, say, the "Aryan Brotherhood", but they are mostly made up of young men who are fantasists and more a danger to themselves than they ever could be to the general public. I have never, in recent decades, seen an ANY neo-Nazi division on the streets of America that was genuinely intending to perpetrate some kind of violent act of terrorism. Most American neo-Nazis are pimply 19- year- old college students who love to dress up in Nazi-style uniforms and chant Nazi era slogans like "Blood and Soil"; but it is all nothing more than "mental masturbation" - a game that they think is very cool to be playing. Like the Klan, if there really were armed , properly trained and organized,
SERIOUS neo-Nazi, parmilitary groups in America, you would know about it. I mean, when was the last time a
bone fide member of an American neo-Nazi division was in court for murder or sabotage or fomenting insurrection, etc. ? I can't think of any such instances at all ?. Ditto the modern-day Klan ?
