A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey found that 41% would vote for their district’s Republican candidate while 38% would choose the Democrat. Thirty-one percent (31%) of conservative Democrats said they would vote for their district’s Republican candidate.

Yes, I'll enjoy 2010. More disappointed crying Republicans, incredulous that their right to rule America has been interrupted.

Nothing sweeter. Not even aspartame.

Specter jumping ship today will only push these numbers up even further for the GOP, with ultimate and total control by the Democrats, and the deep economic/debt hole they are pushing us into, more and more Americans will want a check on the one party rule in Washington, we see today.

Blind obstructionism to the will of the American Majority is not a "check". It is fascism, just like the Republican party with it's far right neo-fascist ideology.

Its funny how you didn't care about a check on one party rule when the Republicans were spending us into oblivion. Yeah, pretty funny.

fascism= bank bailouts, nationalization of GM, nationalization of CITI bank, etc. etc.

Seems to me Obama's economic 'plans' are really equatable to 'fascism' while most Republicans opposed these actions.

try again...

SMY, I doubt that ANY third party candidate will be elected in 2010. Or that the Libertarian party collects more than 1 or 2 percent of the votes nationally. Our third parties are pathetic.

for a large majority of this nation, you'll be correct, however, there are a handful of congressional districts in some states that quite happily buck the norm. You might see one or two.

What a great visual for what this administration has done to us!

I would almost even enjoy seeing a Libertarian, or any third party candidate, elected. But rooting for someone to come along for several years and then realizing it hasn't happened in several times your lifespan makes you a tad bit cynical.
