Why Gun Control Doesn't Work

In England, many police officers do not carry guns.

I definitely noticed that. You're walking around at night without a gun too, so it's an adventure.
The thugs don't shoot you in England.
They slit you from throat to balls.
Comforting to know.

Mainly because most are not really adhered to per the law, it often takes months for someone that has been deemed unfit to own or buy firearms to even be put into the database.

It is illegal to enter stolen gun information into a computer. It has to be only stored on paper. That makes it impossible to search.

Can you imagine if AAA lobbied to make it illegal to enter stolen car information on a computer? We would all wonder why the AAA supported car theft. So why does the NRA support gun theft?

Not in NYC. Chicago maybe?

A system of state regulations is far less efficient than a national strategy, but those states who have enacted the toughest gun laws have the lowest rates of gun deaths. We've been forced to deal with this at the state level because the spineless Republicans in the Senate have refused to address it at the Federal level.

I have no idea what you are talking about with stolen information?????

Tommy Flanagan(actor in Sons of Anarchy) has a "Glasgow Smile", a cut on the face. But, he is still alive and well.

Until they need one.

Outside of London, usually about a quarter of police have gun training. That means that even if things get bad, the majority of the police cannot carry guns. It is not uncommon for police in other European countries to be unarmed, but usually they can legally be armed. The UK is unusual that way.

If you own a gun, and it is stolen, it is illegal for the federal government to store that stolen gun's serial number on a computer. They can only store it's serial number on paper.

Never ever heard of such a law, can you link or simply name it? I do know that only 11 States even require a person report a stolen firearm but not one that forbids the serial numbers from being entered in a database. Now an FFL must report any stolen firearms to the ATF immediately, but that is different.

He could have done the same driving a box truck since we are talking a tightly packed crowd, which the only way he was able to do what he did with a firearm.

But he didn’t use a box truck, did he? He used bump stocks and ARs, didn’t he?

Stay away from “could haves”. They never happen.
