"Attack" on US Capitol in progress

Some guy in a car by himself and smashed into a cop car. He had a knife and the cops shot and killed him. The capital attack is over...and never was.
 


A driver has been shot after a car rammed into a barricade outside the US Capitol building and injured two police officers, law enforcement officials have said.

The officials told the Associated Press that the suspect was taken to hospital in a critical condition.

NBC News has since reported that the person who was shot is believed to have died.

Both police officers have also been taken to hospital and at least one officer is said to be in a serious condition.

Capitol Police have begun their news conference about the incident

The Affirmative Action acting chief of the Capitol police Yogananda Pittman says that at 1.02pm local, a suspect entered the north barricade on the Capitol and drove into two officers.

The suspect exited the vehicle with a knife, and officers shot the suspect.

The suspect has died.

One of the police officers has also died.

Affirmative Action Chief Yogananda asks for the Capitol Police to be kept in people's prayers.

Police in DC say there does not appear to be an ongoing threat.

An officer says "it does not appear to be terrorist related", adding the suspect was not known to them.

Acting Affirmative Action Capitol Killer Cop Chief Yogananda is not giving more information, saying the operation is ongoing.

Acting Metropolitan Police Chief Robert Contee said there wasn't an ongoing threat and the attack didn't appear to be terrorism-related.

"But obviously we'll continue to investigate to see if there is some type of nexus along those lines," he told reporters.

That means they don't want to tell us who the attacker was unless they can find a way to blame "right wing terrorists", I suppose.
