estrogenic compounds leaching out of the plastic water bottles

Who cares?

1) you are stupid if you drink bottled water over nearly free tap water and you deserve to die. :)

2) The press always jumps on some new study, if it can further fear, well before it has faced peer review. And they almost never publish articles that show the study was flawed, afterwords. Don't look for science reporting from the mainstream press.

Paying more for bottled water. (Usually filtered city water) Than pop/soda/coke/tonic is sort of naive.

But I am not sure that most of America deserves to die over it?
Manboobs or someting maybe though.

Some water bottles may release hormone-interfering chemicals? A German study found evidence of estrogenic compounds leaching out of the plastic packaging in commercially available mineral water. While the chemicals were found to impact the development of snail embryos, scientists said it's too soon to determine how they affect humans.

Well that could explain why people who drink bottled water are pussies.

Most bottled water is sold by the companies that make pop. They've spent a lot of time and money to filter the water so their factory in City A produces a product that tastes the same as their factory in City B, and as a result have become experts on making water that tastes good. These are not the goals of the producers of each municipal water supply, which are contaminants below regulated limits, adequate chlorine residual, adequate volume and pressure. Some people don't like the resultant taste of certain tap water, so the bottle gives them a third option over a "spring water" source.

I have a whole house water filter and refill reuseable water bottles.
You're so much better a person than those water bottle users.

Unmanaged water filters can be more detrimental to the user's health than having no filter at all.

I agree about the source. I have no problem with the tap water in Seattle, and the tap water in San Antonio tasted no different to me. But the tap water in Biloxi, MS tasted like shite. So I wound up purchasing bottled water while I was there...

God made us the stewards of our planet and our bodies. We should take good care of both of them.
