MINNEAPOLIS VS. THE EVIDENCE

Apparently, no one is watching the trial of Derek Chauvin, the former Minneapolis police officer on trial for the murder of George Floyd. Otherwise, the media couldn’t get away with their spectacular lying to the public about how the prosecution is killing it.

It’s quite the opposite. In fact, in less than a week, the prosecution’s theory of the crime has subtly shifted from MURDER! to “failed to provide what we would say, in retrospect, would be a full and complete duty of care during the one- to three-minute interval between Floyd’s resisting the police to his dying, as a hostile crowd screamed obscenities at the police officers.”

The defense hasn’t even begun to make its case, but the prosecution’s witnesses keep helping Chauvin. (The only exception to the wild media lying is Headline News, where the lawyer commentators go the extra mile by watching the trial.)

Week One was chock-a-block with weeping bystanders wailing about how they felt watching Chauvin restrain Floyd. This would be tremendous evidence if the charge against Officer Chauvin were “first-degree upsetting bystanders.” But that’s not the charge. That’s not even a crime.

SPOT ON!

EXCELLENT column. Even the Ann-bashers should check this one out.

I have watched almost all of the trial. Chauvin is guilty of at least second degree manslaughter.

I usually detest Ann Coulter but I have to hand it to her.

She hit the nail on the head with this column.

Knocked it out of the park, even.

"So Genevieve, the state’s star witness on what the cops did wrong, testified that she would have done pretty much everything the officers did. But she would have been a lot bossier about it.

For the reading audience who want something other than the preposterous OP's view: there's a program called CourtTV that gives full coverage with commentary from practicing lawyers (defense & prosecution) and former officials in law enforcement. They tell you which side had a good day in court, what is upcoming, etc. Pretty good at being objective.

So a jury should make its mind up BEFORE the defence presents it case?

So why even allow a defence for a suspect? IDIOT!

Of course they should. Isn't anyone accused by the left guilty until proven innocent?

That said, since we taxpayers pay these cops to "serve and protect," they should be held to a higher standard. It's been documented that this asshole cop had a number of reports of errant behavior.
Nothing was done, so his superior should be fired, at the least. He should be held accountable for his reckless behavior. A person with their hands cuffed behind their back and lying on their stomach poses little, if any threat at all. At the most, a person flopping around cuffed isn't a challenge for 4 cops, they'll tire rather quickly anyway.
As I've said numerous times, I'm not anti law enforcement. But the fact remains that a few of them should be ousted before they shoot an unarmed citizen in the back or try to "force their authority" in a contemptuous fashion. The few bad cops make all cops look bad, and the racist, left leaning media doesn't help matters. Some also forget they are civilians when they take off their uniforms.
Most of us have met a cop with an "attitude." A few are members of my gun club. They think their "shit doesn't stink" until a simple civilian shows them they aren't so damn good after all, and it pisses them off.

Reuters broadcasts it live. I have no interest in commentary. The trial itself is enough.

Chauvin clearly is guilty.

The commentary comes after the analysis from the legal standpoint....you get the live coverage from the day. Good stuff, IMHO.

Thank goodness this idiot isn't on the jury, so his opinion is meaningless.

Note that when presented with facts they can't BS past, Volstock and his ilk just move the goal post and/or try to pass off their supposition and conjecture as fact. Seldom do they care if this happens, as they just want a platform to spew their garbage.
