Virginia cops pepper-sprayed Black and Latino Army officer

The Spider-Man Rule applies. These police officers fucked up several ways. Excessive use of force, threats of street execution and the coercion to conceal their crimes in exchange for being let go.

$20 says the officers are disciplined and Nazario wins his lawsuit through a settlement.

I just saw the Video. It looks like the Cops asked the Driver to get out of the Vehicle. Not real difficult to do that.

I got pulled over once and was asked to exit the Vehicle. I did that. The Cop looked at me ... then said "You're not the guy". And drove off.

No need to lower yourself to being a trollish liar, Jack, since Nazario's race has nothing to do with my view.

OTOH, it appears to have everything to do with the actions of the officers, your views and the views of the Alt-Righties on this thread.

What's YOUR view. Whatever the Police ask you, tell them to 'Fuck Off'? Play 'Stupid'? Start screaming "I can't breath' and 'Police Brutality'?

That would be real stupid. That would be a Message to EVERYONE that you don't need to cooperate with the Police. What ever is asked of you, ... just stand their and waste their time with "What's going on?".

The Army should demote this guy.

Bet that doesn’t happen either.

Is TDAK using Jacks username?

Curious.

I hope not. :(

I'm trying to be pragmatic here. If you are told to exit the vehicle, how hard is that to do?
If the Cops want to see your Drivers License, that would make sense to me.

Most people (and that would include you and Dutch, along with myself) would easily exit the vehicle if instructed by the Police. I have no idea what they are investigating? A car jacking, ... a kidnapping, a robbery? I support a civil society and a Police Force.

This guy in the Video looked like he was deliberately 'Playing Stupid'. Just a real waste of time for Police if the are investigating a car jacking, kidnapping, or robbery.

With all due respect, spoken like a white guy .. who does not have, nor understand the perspectives of people other than himself. Anytime I’m stopped by police, the first thing I do is note the race of the cop stopping me. Dependent on race, I take different approaches on what I do next. Goal #1 is to survive the encounter. I’m sure that ‘survival’ doesn’t factor into that situation for you.

Obviously you're white.

I've never been told to get out of my car and frequently have been told to stay in it. Not that that's happened in the past 12+ years. Overall, I'm guessing 6-8 traffic stops* with about 3 tickets over my lifetime.

*When I was 18 I once evaded police at night. If I'd been caught it would have changed my life with charges of speeding, reckless driving, running a stop sign and evading police. I realized how stupid that was afterwards and adjusted my behavior accordingly.

I must say that I agree with you.

And I might add that this army butter bar should have learned how to obey commands ... whether he agreed with them or not. Also, if he felt that this was an illegal order (see the USCMJ) he was required to so state ... which did not happen.

Yep, this hojo butter bar is headed for a rich reward from the city and a glorious military career

spoken like someone who's never been the victim of a wrong stop.........you should probably just shut up and listen

Kinda early in the day for smoking crack, isn't it, Jack? /sarcasm

The large font size and font choice says you are really, really excited about this topic over others.

It's one thing when one of the Usual Suspects does it all-the-fucking-time (you see it in their OPs), but when a person doesn't normally do it then suddenly and repeatedly does it in a short amount of time, that's a significant behavior change indicating there is more at work here than meets the eye. So what is it? What's bugging or driving you today?

If I cooperate with the Police, if I make their Job easier, if I convey to them I'm NOT a threat to them, I expect their adrenaline rush to subside. I understand they are dealing with 'an Armed Citizenry' and have no idea who or what they are approaching.

On your 'racial' bias, in my opinion, it's more about 'economic class' than race. But, it's more common that 'Blacks' are 'poor' so are immediately put in the 'poor economic class'.
'Poor People' commit more crime ... because they are Poor. Rich People commit less crime ... because they are Rich.

On a side note, I was visiting a friend (who I was previously incarcerated with) in Logan Heights, San Diego, an extremely poor area populated with Minorities (mostly Latinos). I was standing at a Bus Stop around midnight and within 5 minutes the Police arrived and 'arrested' me on 'Suspicion'. The next day I was released with no explanation. I think it was a 'general policy' to 'arrest people' (read that Poor People) and gather their Personal Information, Fingerprints, and Mug Shot for their 'Data Base'. This was in the 1960s, ... so, I'm sure it's even more widespread now.

I've been pulled over and when I got out and reached for my wallet, had guns pulled on me while they were hiding behind the doors of their Squad Car. (Note: Immediately going for your wallet is a BAD IDEA) :|

:) The Police have a Job to do. I have no problem cooperating with them. I don't want a car-jacker jacking my car, i don't want a kidnapper kidnapping one of my kids, I don't want a robber robbing my house.

Does that make sense?

you're bringing shit up that doesn't apply. especially given what i've said about a wrong stop. the problem is with people like you who have the slave mindset of immediate submission because you 'want to feel protected'........without actually knowing what the fucking job of law enforcement is. If you found yourself on the business end of a dozen panic stricken cops with itchy trigger fingers pointed at you as they yell out mixed commands, you are going to FEAR for your fucking life........no matter what color you are..........

again, you should probably shut up and actually listen instead of making the idiotic assumption that everything works the way it's supposed to.......i'll bet you also think that philando castille just made stupid mistakes and the cops acted exactly the way they should have

I'm glad you brought up 'Philando Castile'.
This could happen to anyone of us.
