Lord Fauci ‘not sure’ why Texas doesn’t have COVID uptick after nixing masks

It’s been some five weeks since Texas lifted its mask mandate, and there has yet to be an explosion of COVID-19 cases.

It’s something Lord Fauci can’t quite explain.

“I’m not really quite sure,” he told MSNBC this week. “It could be they’re doing things outdoors.”

Daily "cases" (a mostly meaningless statistic) in Texas hovered above 7,000 in early March, when Gov. Greg Abbott lifted the state’s mask rules, leaving it up to individuals and organizations to make their own decisions.

Now, according to the Centers for Disease Control, new cases of COVID-19 are under 4,000.

Lord Fauci noted there can be a delay in how and when cases manifest.

“Often you have to wait a few weeks before you see the effect of what you’re doing right now,” he mumbled.

“I hope they continue to tick down. If they do, that would be great but there’s always the concern when you pull back on methods — particularly on things like indoor dining and bars that are crowded — you could see a delay and then all of a sudden tick right back up,” he whined unconvincingly.

“We’ve been fooled before by situations where people begin to open back up. Nothing happens and then all of a sudden several weeks later things explode on you, so we’ve got to be careful we don’t prematurely judge that,” he added with a smug, knowing grin.

Everybody can’t wait to return to normal. Except for half the population dreading the return to normal.

During a sad, tragic year, it was introverts who found a silver lining. There was more time alone, more peace and less of the personal and professional pressures they find so draining.

The calendar was suddenly, blissfully empty.

The fourth wave is going to kill us all.

Here's the deal, fellas—you can’t keep this game up for a virus with a 90+ percent survivability rate.

The states that remain under the lockdown regime were seeing a spike and New York City, the mecca of the US-based COVID outbreak, is seeing the decline in every metric gauging the spread of this virus.

This isn’t from me. FiveThirtyEight Nate Silver has been dropping some facts that are undercutting the panic narrative.

Was there a slight surge in the Northeast? Yeah—as he noted, it’s plateaued. Michigan is seeing something serious brewing, but that's not a “wave.”

The data simply doesn't spell alarm. It never did.

It’s like watching a child slowing beginning to question the existence of Santa Claus.

How can it be that Texas, a state roundly condemned by DEMOCRATS and their media allies when they announced an end to mask mandates, hasn’t transformed into a killing field?

They still run stories about how bad things are in Florida, which never closed schools or issued mask mandates, even though they’ve never come close to the number of cases and deaths of New York, a state with 2 million fewer residents.

Narrative has overtaken reality with the left and they won’t let it go.

“So what might explain the apparent contradiction?” the Today Show asked. “Difference is testing rates?” they wondered.

Alabama’s infection rates have dropped, “more than 50 percent in the last 2 weeks,” they report. How did it happen? “But it’s also dead last in the US for COVID testing,” they said, with “only 56 tests per 100,000 people. That’s a fraction of what you’ll find in places like Vermont (1420 per 100,000), Massachusetts (1259 per 100,000), and New York (1084 per 100,000) where numbers are surging.”

Those numbers are all true, but it makes no sense that a lack of testing is the issue, unless Alabama is overrun with people who are sick but not being tested.

If this were the case, someone would notice. Someone would notice that hospitals in Alabama, or any of these states, are full of people with a mysterious, undiagnosed respiratory ailment, wouldn’t they?

Might it be something else?

“When you don’t test, you’re blind. And when you’re not testing, you have a false sense of what the real problem is in your community,” an “expert” they interviewed said.

But this assumes something that doesn’t make any sense: that there are a lot of people, thousands or tens of thousands, in Alabama and these other states who are sick who aren’t bothering to get tested or seek medical care. You only need to get tested if you feel ill or have been exposed to someone who is, and neither is happening in the “free” states. In the middle of a pandemic, where testing is free and easy, and the possibility of death, while remote, is still very real, why would that happen?

The “experts” don’t know, and they’re not interested in speculating or even acknowledging.

There is another possibility, one that will get you banned from Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and all other online platforms: that lockdowns and masks don’t work.
 
I’m no doctor, but maybe magic masks can’t filter out a virus as small as COVID,

I don’t know the answer, but I do know the people who are supposed to be looking for the answers are not.

Science is the asking of questions and the pursuit of the answers, no matter where that pursuit leads.

The COVID “experts” are married to the decisions they made at the start of this thing, adamantly incurious to the possibility that they were wrong.
