‘He was guilty.’ Extra juror in favor of Chauvin conviction

I’m paraphrasing. I’m not surprised you are trying to backtrack. That’s what passive aggressive people do.
"Paraphrasing" isn't quoting me, though;) Just reply to my quotes that concern you....

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — An alternate juror at the trial of Derek Chauvin said she agreed with the jury’s decision to convict him in George Floyd’s death, saying she saw Chauvin as the leader of officers at the scene and that he brushed off warnings by bystanders that Floyd was in danger.

“I felt he was guilty,” Lisa Christensen said on “CBS This Morning” in a story aired Thursday. “I didn’t know if it was going to be guilty on all counts, but I would have said guilty.”

Without the publicity, it would have been a slam dunk guilty case. Then again, without the publicity, it would have been swept under the carpet and forgotten. I guess the publicity was a double edged sword.

But with so many conservatives staking their reputation on this case, anything could have happened.

But she was dismissed

No she was not. She was an alternate juror. If one of the main jurors had been dismissed after the trial started, she would have taken the dismissed juror's place. She heard the trial like a juror, but was left out of the deliberation, because they already had enough jurors.

They could not dismiss her until they dismissed all the regular jurors. If they had dismissed her, and one of the regular jurors were disqualified, then it would be a real mess.

Okay so why was your immediate reaction to impugn the juror?
I gave my opinion...if you disagree, I'm fine with that....I didn't change your words or attack you personally....I'm not sure why you feel the need to do so, but that is your right....

They did dismiss her...and one other, however....

Their opinion is no more relevant than anyone else in that courtroom (other than the judge and the 12 jurors, and they haven't spoken publicly). That's what. It's what I said to begin with. DUH!!

The 12 regular jurors have decided that Chauvin is guilty. If the defense had any doubts about that, they could have polled the jury. They did not, because they knew that the jury found him guilty. And at least one of the alternate jurors who sat with the jury and saw all the same evidence agrees.

Why would she be? I wonder if she had prior knowledge of the videos/witnesses/the case?
I thought you said you've served on a jury before, so you would understand the selection process...now I'm not sure I believe you...;)

If she had prior knowledge of the case, she would not have been on the jury. Somewhere along the line, you lost the fact that an alternate juror is on the jury.

Floyd, the hero of the BLM and the left. He was a convicted felon and a drug addict. He pointed a gun at a pregnant woman while trying to rob her. Yeah, super wonderful guy.

Exactly how was pressure placed on them when the judge forbade them from watching the news or talking about the case with anyone?

The expectation of power had been well communicated before the jury was even picked, and only sometimes do jurors comply with judge instructions to stay off of social media and the internet. This judge saying "Dont watch the news" indicates a person pretending like it is still the 1950's, watching the news is increasingly rare, we follow what is going on in different ways now.

She sat through the entire case hearing all the evidence. She was selected as an alternate and had all the information the jurors had.
She did...but she was dismissed (as was the other alternate) after closing arguments, before deliberations.....unless you know otherwise....

The expectation of power had been well communicated before the jury was even picked

Was it? Because Donald Trump was all over the news defending Chauvin for months before this was even brought to trial.

You were here on JPP poisoning the jury pool with your comments about Chauvin last fucking year.

She was dismissed after closing arguments...one of two.... before deliberations....

No, no, no... They would never do that. It is not unheard of for a juror to be dismissed during deliberation. If you dismiss your alternates before deliberation, you can not replace a juror dismissed during deliberation.

She was actually sequestered for deliberation... Without even getting to deliberate. My guess is she just read a book in some waiting room, while the regular jurors deliberated, and then at night went back to the motel with the other jurors.
