Mask mandates had near zero effect on China Disease rates of infection

Sooner or later the actual science was going to catch up with some of this stuff.

I hope you morons don't get vaccinated and don't wear masks in public.

Probably the most accurate way to put it is Trump facilitated vaccine development and guaranteed supply. The latter goes to your point about India and Europe. The EU, actually.

Lefties aren’t able to concede it but OWS was arguably Trump’s greatest achievement. Historians will be forced to recognize it but in our hyper partisan atmosphere no recognition is forthcoming.

There’s another point the lefties and globalists won’t like: nationalism won the day on vaccine supply. Because of the EU’s layers of bureaucracy they were slow lining contracts and infrastructure up. Boris Johnson didn’t have to deal with that, post-Brexit, so Britain is in better shape than their former EU partners.

Biden claimed ‘there was no plan in place’ when he got installed. That’s damned lie. Without OWS we would be scrapping for vaccines right now instead of facing a surplus due to vaccine hesitancy. Vaccine hesitancy is a happy problem. India and most of Europe would be happy to have it.

But it’s that way because Trump put America and Americans first.

Trump only ever put Trump first.

He was a terrible pandemic President - and he had no plan in place once vaccines were developed and approved. The reason we're over 50% vaccinated right now is 100% Biden.

The gullible TrumpTards will never believe that. Just like they'll never believe that Trump lost the 2020 election or that the Capitol riots weren't peaceful.

They are fat, dumb and blissfully happy living in their delusional Planet Trump.

Why would someone start a thread when the abstract of its only source completely refutes their belief? To cherry pick a contra indicating footnote within?

With advocates like TA who needs cross-x?

I know. BWWWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAA!!! Radical Right Wing Extremists are such fucking morons.

I didn't say they don't save lives, only that they don't save very many and the economic cost of using them outweighs the benefits.

Ok.. what value of life are you using and what value has been lost in the economy due to shutdowns?

Did you factor in the cost of hospitalizations for the increases number of sick?

Did you factor in that the CDC report includes people choosing to mask and social distance which also has an economic effect similar to state orders.

Life is cheap. How many "Starving kids in Africa" do you pay $25 a month to keep from dying? Insurance companies put a price on life all the time. The economy took a hit in the tens, if not hundreds of billions lost in productivity. That far exceeds the cost of hospitalizations which can only be costed where those were in excess of other operations. Remember, many hospitals stopped doing elective procedures and other routine stuff to do China Disease. One illness was displaced by another so the cost was largely a wash.

It seems RWers think a life like Ashli Babbit is worth $25 million.
That means it would only take 20,000 deaths to get to the 500 billion mark. But the CDC numbers show that in a year, no mask mandates would result in double the number of deaths. But what's an extra 300,000 - 400,000 deaths? It has no economic impact, right? Of course that assumes that hospitals wouldn't be overwhelmed at that rate of infection which would have doubled the deaths again as we would have been seeing lack of ventilators and beds.So whats another 300,000 on top of that? Heck, no masks for the year would have only resulted in 900,000 - 1,200,000 deaths or more. No big deal economically, right?

It seems you don't know anyone in hospital administration. Hospitals lost money as they dealt with this. Covid patients took up beds and ventilators but they didn't require surgery or occupational therapies after surgery.
But you also didn't factor in the lost economic activity from those that were hospitalized. Someone on a ventilator in the hospital isn't going out to eat or shopping at Walmart. How many more hospitalizations would have occurred without masks?

So, how many lives have we saved with the trillions we've spent on wars stemming from 9/11? How much a head have we spent on that?

He had no idea what he was posting, and now he's pivoting to .... yeah, but how many lives did we save? So he admits his OP is a lie, but no big deal, because it didn't save enough lives to make it worth the investment.

Trump set Biden up for the win on vaccines. I’ll pretend I didn’t hear the ‘no plan in place’ bit. The only thing left for Biden to do was to distribute the vaccines *and not screw it up*. I’ll grant that he hasn’t.

OTOH, ‘not screwing up’ doesn’t get a president into the history books.

Biden also gets a C- on leadership for his ‘all over the lot’ messaging. They want to get everyone vaccinated while they are sending the message that their lives aren’t going to change much after they get jabbed.

Biden wears the talisman on Zoom call[?!] but he tries to kill Jimmy Carter’s wife by not wearing it in a small room with the Carter’s.

That’s about as mixed up as it gets.

That's really not correct. Trump was floundering after the vaccines were ready to go.

He wasn't focused on it at all. It was all about the Big Lie from the time the vaccines were ready until he left office.

The few times he focused on it, he blamed Dem governors and passed the buck.

Biden passed 6 EO's on his 1st full day that changed the entire paradigm. And it shows in the results; I don't have to argue it or prove it. We went from a million a week to over a million a day in the course of just one week, and were over 2 million a day shortly after that.

Trump was a failure on COVID.

Apparently the 6 feet social distancing will help you idea was just an idea, and there was never much of any evidence that it was a good idea. It was yet another very costly thing that was done because it sounded good rather than was known to be good.

Considering that airborne viruses are literally blown on the wind, and flow around every obstacle with the slightest breeze (including plastic shields in stores), Six feet 'social distancing' is rather silly.
