Powell strikes back!

Poor Colin Powell is still trying to atone for lying down with dogs. I guess he's still smarting from getting played for a fool by the Shrub & company. Oh well, kudos to the man for trying to do the right thing.

Colin Powell is given far too much credit and illusioin of intelligence and honor that he does not deserve.

Powell has always been a "Steppin' Fetchit."

Look no further than the MyLai Incident for a clear demonstration that this man does what he's told to do without the impediment of principles or honor.

Powell KNEW the evidence he presented to the UN about Iraq was false .. and he KNEW thousands of US soldiers lives hung in the balance of the false evidence he was presenting. But like the coward that he is, he did what he was told and looked the other way when the consequences of his actions came home in the form of body bags filled with dead Americans.

Powell should be stood in front of a firing squad and shot.

He's not unprincipled, he's just "good at politics". Just asked motleydude, he'll share with you the mainstream mindset of evil = enlightenment.

Hmmm, "Steppin Fetchit was a buffoon. Powell is anything BUT stupid. I equate him as the "good little soldier" that never questions orders.....so much more to pity. As far as honor goes, that would entail a public confession and I don't think we'll get that. What we're seeing now is a long delayed wrestling of conscience, IMHO.

Steppin Fetchit was no buffoon my brother.

He simply did what he was told and danced to beat of his "masters" .. just like Colin Powell.

.. and like Powell, when his "masters" no longer needed him, he sought contrition and absolution for the shame of his actions.

Powell is most definately a Steppin' Fetchit.

.. nothing more .. and justifiably, the African-American community does not celebrate him.

Yeah, old Step was a buffoon....plain & simple. The emphasis of his character was the usual simpleton with a slight deviousness equated to rudimentary intelligence (the "shifty eyed" negro, and all that). If you want to use analogy, Powell could be (with a slight stretch) an over-seer. Either way, not a compliment to his character. We do agree on one thing, it's a day late and a dollar short for him to make up for all the damage he contributed to....but it's a start, I guess.

My good brother .. the character of Steppin' Fetchit was indeed a buffoon, but the man who played him, Lincoln Theodore Monroe Andrew Perry, was not. In fact he became a millionaire and was the first black actor to do so. But the image he protrayed was so degrading, few of his films have made it to video and his scenes are deleted in films that have made it to video that he was in.

Perry exchanged money for his soul (pun intended) .. just as Powell exchanged rank and power for his soul (pun definately intended).

The overseer characterization would also be appropriate, but whether overseer, clown, or General, it all boils down to a creature without soul, principle, or honor.

Powell is in no small measure responsable for the blood in Iraq. His perceved morality was traded upon to dupe many Americans into supporting the war. Powell stood in front of the UN and said he knew where WMD were. I know several people who were anti-war who changed there minds after Powell's lie!

That being said, he has since come out and said he regretted what he did. I do not dislike the man. People who acknoledge the errors of there past are few and far between and I really respect that. He should never hold a place in public office again! He could have been president of the USA, but he has lost his chance of even serving in any public office again, deservedly so.

He should be made to visit every home that has lost a loved one or had one horribly wounded in Iraq .. then he should be put in front of a firing squad and publicly shot to death.

Sorry I got your husband, daughter, mother, son killed FOR PROFIT just doesn't cut it.

Err, since we were talking about the movie character, what led you to believe that I was attributing the character to the real life personality of the actor who portrayed him? I never wrote anything to suggest such. Never assume someone is not of the same knowledge that you are.

The error was mine in not being more clear that I was talking about Perry who portrayed the dispicable character of Steppin' Fetchit.

That being said, hopefully you understand the comparisons I was making.

Two black libs in lock-step agreement. Will wonders never cease.

My, my.......the willfully ignorant neocon parrot is now disturbed that two black folk are in agreement. And God forbid, they're "libs" (neocon speak for "liberal"....a dirty word in their world. I guess the Founding Fathers are all enemies of the State as well to them).

You're pathetic.:(

I can't say I blame you both for sticking together, sort of like two rats drowning in a lake.

Modern conservatism is exactly like 18th century American liberalism. I'm not surprised that you didn't realize that.

I had no clue you were black.

You'll have to excuse that southern man thing. He's suffering from a severe case of punkassism. He's afraid of everything. His world is rapidly shrinking. Has nightmares about his wife being fucked by Lebron James.

His dementia is obvious.

Wow you've stooped to a new low. You must be truly overwhelmed by my superior intellect to resort to that. Welcome to my small list of true, permanent enemies.

I don't like you.

Why would I give a fuck about your list of enemies? You're a coward afraid of your own shadow.

Put me on top of your list.

Perhaps it best that we don't talk to each other as I have nothing but contempt for what you are.

.. or I can just keep on spanking your ass whenever I feel like it.

You have crossed a line that shall not be crossed. It is equivalent to terrorists attacking women and children instead of soldiers who are armed and trained to defend themselves. Welcome to the lowest of the low.

I can't say I blame you both for sticking together, sort of like two rats drowning in a lake. My, my....I've frustrated you so badly by exposing your ignorance that your sheet is showing. Better tuck it back in, bunky.

Hey mastermind....do you think that such concepts as right to trial, free speech, equality regardless of financial or social status under the law, were "conservative" values when the country was created by the Founding Fathers? The Crown of England didn't think so. God, sometimes I truly believe that you are that fucking stupid, rather than just another insipidly stubborn neocon stooge. :chesh:

And here I was led to understand that the Magna Carta was originally started in 1215.

Silly me.
