I think they're a little bit too damn sensitive out west.

Unfortunately, this ain't Gunsmoke, and it doesn't work like that.

I kinda wish it did, but it doesn't.

Matt used to help people out that weren't bad people, but may have been forced into circumstances where a crime was committed.

Leos used to be able to look the other way, now they can't. They're monitored.

Their job now is to arrest any lawbreaker. No matter how miniscule the infraction is.

I'm certain that policy has more than doubled arrests, but what good has it done for the community?

I'm thinking fostered a lot more distrust and resentment of police.

When greed becomes the issue in "Treasure Hunt," Stu decides friendship and the love for his wife is worth more than all the jewels in the world on Fantasy Island. Sheltered Sally Quinn loses the "Beauty Pageant," but wins her father's respect and love on Fantasy Island.

Richard Delaney's fantasy to become a "Superstar" is experienced on Fantasy Island just in time to give him the courage he needed to gain respect from his boss. Martha and Walter Tate's fantasy is fulfilled. when they arrive in "Salem" to experience morality only to find it begins at home.

S01:E09 - Racer / Lady of the Evening
Renee Lansing arrives on Fantasy Island to have a vacation where she will not be recognized. Bill Frederick's fantasy is fulfilled when he finds Renee, "Lady of the Evening" his lady to be. Jack Kincade nearly died in a premiere race and has nightmares ever since. Jack's fantasy comes true when "The Racer" deals with his fear and rides the track prior to a race.

S01:E10 - Trouble My Lovely / Common Man, The
Stanley Schecter's fantasy as a Private Investigator comes true when "The Common Man" puts his life on the line and unravels the "big" case. Fred Stoughton gains respect from his family when he instinctively tries to save a drowning lady. There is no "Trouble My Lovely" when Mumsy is packed to leave and Fred experiences peace and quiet on Fantasy Island.

S01:E11 - Poof, You're a Movie Star / Over the Hill Caper
Attractive Miss Shirley Russell wants to become a movie star. Roarke has arrange everything including a press party to announce the signing of her contract with Arthur Gantman, the Studio Chief, for her new picture, "Wayward Wife." Her co-star is handsome Desmond Vaughn. After a very late date with Desmond, Shirley is awakened at 5 A.M. by Liz Perry, her press agent, and taken to the studio. By 6:00 she is working on her first scene, which requires a dozen takes. She is exhausted, but Liz gives her the day's itinerary -lunch, fan club meeting and another date with Desmond. Shirley is beginning to have her doubts about the movie business. The morning's work is finished and a demolished Shirley is changing for her lunch date with Gantman when Roarke appears with a surprise. Shirley's fiancée, Bill Windsor, has arrived from Omaha to share her fantasy. She barely has time to say she'll have dinner with him, when Gantman walks in and they leave an unhappy Bill behind. That evening Shirley and Bill have just finished dinner when Gantman sits down to offer her a seven year contract with lots of publicity. She is so excited, but Gantman tells her he ordered a rewrite on her current script which now requires a nude love scene with Desmond, and Bill protests, then leaves. Shirley is confused and Liz reminds her stardom might be a lonely place and not to compromise. The next morning Gantman and the crew are setting up the nude scene. Shirley takes off her robe, but is wearing a bathing suit and Gantman tells her that is not good enough. Shirley decides it's too high a price to pay and walks off to join Bill. Spencer and Winnie McLean arrive on Fantasy Island for what Winnie thinks is their honeymoon, since they were just married. Spencer is the notorious "Spence" Randolph of the Strawberry Hill Gang, whose fantasy is to reunite the old gang for one last job. Thomas Prentiss greets Spence, and while he is upset to see the blackmailer, he gives Prentiss his permission to escort


S01:E12 - Double Your Pleasure / Fool for a Client
Whether you are twins like Larry and Barry or Deena and Nina, you too can "Double Your Pleasure" on Fantasy Island. Roarke congratulates Herbert Costigan when he disproves the old cliche'. the lawyer who handles his own case has a "Fool For A Client."

S01:E13 - Call Me Lucky / Torch Song
Edith Garvey becomes a roaring 20's "Torch Singer," on Fantasy Island. She discovers her grandmother quit singing because fame was not as important as life. When Harry Beamus' fantasy comes true, he finds that being the luckiest man in the world almost lost him his son. Harry says, "Call Me Lucky," I have my son's love.

S01:E14 - King for a Day / Instant Family
Gail Grayson's fantasy to work with the famous child psychologist, Dr. Block, and her mother's fantasy to prove child-rearing is harder in real life, brings them both and "Instant Family" on Fantasy Island. Plumber Ernie Miller never expected his fantasy as "King for a Day," to last the rest of his life; and Queen Aurora never expected to find a kind and loving King Albert on Fantasy Island.

I stayed up for 3 days after she left.. playing Nintendo and ate nothing but a dry chicken leg in a piece of bread and drank Mountain Dew.

I can't sustain doing things like that. That was decades ago.

I can't just "drop out" for 3 days these days.
