Why not call all criminals and anyone else we don't like some kind of "terrorist?"

Gangs have existed in America for hundreds of years, and they have always forced people to join.

In fact, gangs are less prevelant and less violent than they were during the heyday of the mafia and during prohibition.

The notion to call everything a "terrorist" needs to stop.
 
IT'S ok to start now cause they are mostly black and latino.
Gangs are a result of lack of opportunity and oppression.

This has always been a common practice.

I would suggest you watch Gangs of New York to see what terrorist gangs look like. Natavist gangs seeking to terrorize newly arrived immigrants.

what is happening that caused me to post this is the increase of gang activity on a more local basis

gangs out here used to ignore non-members as beneath notice, now they are assaulting and killing any non-members :(

if a gang is 'terrorizing' the locals then they are by definition terrorists

it is not because they are just black or latino since whites are also members

the real bummer is that too much of it is drug trade involved

blasted DEA and the war on drugs

Is that a tear I see running down your cheek. Gangs are a result of liberal policies that have reduced them and their families to depend on the government for assistance. Why work when the government will provide food, shelter, health care and money. Cut it all off and watch how motivated the little fuckers will be to find jobs and go to school. I know its a pipe dream since this is a major voting block for democrats, and its how they keep control of the minority vote. They tell them the mean old white Republicans want to make them work and go to school, be self-reliant and that usually sends them running to the polls to vote democrat, gotta keep that welfare money flowing.

Gangs are not domestic terrorists. That is the most absurd thing I've heard in a while.

A terrorist is defined as someone who uses terror for political purposes. This trend of haphazardly defining everything as a "terrorist" whether it makes sense or not in order to start a "war" against it is terrifying.

There have always been gangs, but it has nothing to do with "opportunity" and everything to do with culture. In America, people have more opportunity than any other country on the planet, I personally know of two immigrants who came here with nothing but the clothes on their back and the will to succeed, and they did. Both are successful small business owners, doing very well for themselves and their families. If they can make it, anyone can, it's a matter of how much determination you have.

In the inner city, gangs are a cultural thing for the poor, they are introduced at an early age, and they just grow up understanding they will one day be members of the gang, like their brothers before them.

Wasn't the republican party's motto "You are either with us or against us" when they invaded Iraq? Wasn't that what they said when they tried to use bogus patriotism to silence all opposition?
