The height of Democracy.

My apologies if I may have already asked this. My attention span isn't the best and as these threads go on I easily lose my thought process. The above is saying we should discuss systems that create systemic racism but you argued the crime bill was ok and it had popular support (even though it has been called a prime example of systemic racism). How do those two mix?

A lot of people supported the bill at the time. According to one article "Ms. Brock’s comments underscore a sometimes overlooked reality in today’s re-examination of the crime bill: The legislation was broadly embraced by nonwhite voters, more enthusiastically even than by white voters. About 58 percent of nonwhites supported it in 1994, according to a Gallup poll, compared with 49 percent of white voters."

Was reading today about the 1986 anti-drug crime bill. This was also led by Joe Biden and had the support of most black lawmakers. In hindsight it's pretty amazing to read that there were Democrats claiming Reagan wasn't tough enough in fighting the drug war (because it was decimating urban areas and this was after Len Bias' death).

So again, this law along with the '94 crime ball are often referred to when discussing systemic racism and the attack on black people. Yet they were both backed by black lawmakers and Democrats (we'll just assume all Republicans are racist and don't care).

Those seem like very contradictory positions.

Fighting against teaching our CHILDREN the truth about America's racist past.

While also fighting to keep statues of Confederate soldiers and monuments in places of honor.

I thought these pukes wanted to preserve AMERICA's past.

What has any of this got to do with a democracy? What democracy are you talking about?

White folks born in the 30's, 40's, 50's (and some of the early 60's) were brought up to be racists by their parents and grandparents.

CRT/1619 IS NOT THE "TRUTH".
