Cap and trade

Is the debate over on this issue?

Are we really going to allow fascists to create another pseudo marketplace to tether our freedoms to and then use it to manipulate us, or destroy us altogether?

When you allow new abstractions to be monetized, you must be careful what you're doing.

In this case the government will arbitrarily set a finite amount of co2 that can be produced, issue credits to represent that amount, and then give them to their chosen co2 banks.

What is being monetized? it is the right to create co2. This is fine on a corporate level i suppose, but what about when they extend this to individuals. Will we be taxed to breathe?

And like any market this one will be manipulated too, for social engineering purposes, or to consolidate power.

Will affirmative action programs be involved? will there be graduated charges based on ethnicity or background? Will we be voting on who gets the "breathing subsidy", in effect, voting who lives and dies?

monetization leads to politicization, which leads to abuse and destruction.

Cap'n Trade or ObamaCare, either way or likely both the Democrats will control you like a dog with an electronic bark collar. *woof*

Why would we be taxed to breathe? Only artificial CO2 sources would be taxed. Natural CO2 sources are part of the equilibrium that we wish to restore and you wish to throw wildly off balance. It would be pointless to tax breathing.

Obviously you don't know what it will do to the middle class and the poor. You are a heartless person.

Whenever a right winger starts worrying about the middle class and the poor I raise my feet. The hypocrisy is too deep for words. Consider conservative opinion on items that do help the middle class and poor: fair wages, unions, UHC, SS, welfare and you know a corporate think tank is pulling their strings.

1600 is what it will cost the average family. Hopefully Reid fumbles this bomb on American families

Darned good point! Perhaps this cap and trade is not so bad after all.
From her statement it will obviously hurt the rich and powerful and help the poor.

Can there be any other reason they would be against it? That gang worrying about the poor and middle class is ludicrous. They've become so obvious it would be comical if it wasn't so sad.

all the oil was at one time carbon based life on the surface of the planet. it's as natural as you and me. You're just a stupid kid who can't understand the science behind the skeptic arguments...exactly as the warming alarmists have planned. There are far more stupid people like watermark that are easy to fool and it's safe to assume watertard will never be able to understand the science enough to question anything the alarmists feed him. It's a perfect scam because better than half of the people have no chance of catching onto the truth as long as the media keeps helping to label skepticism as "denial"

Yep, but the left doesn't care.

I heard today that there is more plastic in the oceans than plankton.

I guess we need some fish that eat plastic.

Man CAN make a differnece in the world ecosystem.

You seem to be confusing deficit spending and the size of the money supply. I know these are standard talking points for the mindless righties of the day, but it just doesn't make sense. BTW, the money the treasury prints doesn't go to the government.

Nope, I decided to add that to confuse you. You confuse easily.

Nobody's doing that.

Ain't that the truth! Have you seen the going rate for "love"? Soon the average, middle class guy won't be able to afford the gal on the corner.

There's going to be some hard times ahead.
