Chauvin weighs 140lb and is 5" 7', Floyd was 6"6' and over 230lb. His neck was like a bull ffs, it's clear that it was a show trial and the powers that be were terrified of BLM and Antifa coming back to finish off the job of destroying cities.

I wouldn't be surprised if Chauvin himself was part of the deal.

Put on a show trial for the masses in which his conviction is a foregone conclusion.

Keep a special "cell" for him that is more like a nice apartment with every comfort he could want including TV, internet, great food, booze and even women visitors.

Do that for a specified time period then..... who knows?

Another Cosby like outcome with the conviction being overturned on appeal after all the emotion has had a chance to cool down possibly?

Or let him out on the sly every weekend to travel around, fishing trips to a secluded lakeside cabin, visits to his family.... ?
 
20 some is a long ass hitch. It will seem like forever in 6 months when nobody is talking about this and he'll still be rotting in
jail with almost all his sentence unserved.

I would have been very comfortable being a juror on that trial.

I hate to imagine the idiot defense attorney who wouldn't scratch me in voir dire, though.

Probably one reason I always hang out at the sports book instead of the poker tables.

I don't think any of the jurors have been doxed and I doubt they would have no matter how they voted.

I probably would have hung the jury though.

Insisted in the lowest manslaughter charge or nothing.
