CNN) – Brushing off suggestions Tuesday the media is not critical enough of his administration, President Obama couldn't help but take aim at one cable news channel in particular.

"It's very hard for me to swallow that one," Obama told CNBC when asked whether he thinks the media is too easy on him. "First of all, I've got one television station entirely devoted to attacking my administration."

The interviewer quickly assumed Obama was referring to Fox News, a suggestion the president didn't disagree with.

"Well, that's a pretty big megaphone," he said. "And you'd be hard-pressed, if you watched the entire day, to find a positive story about me on that front."

"We welcome people who are asking us some, you know, tough questions," he continued. "And I think that I've been probably as accessible as any president in the first six months–press conferences, taking questions from reporters, being held accountable, being transparent about what it is that we're trying to do. I think that, actually, the reason that people have been generally positive about what we've tried to do is they feel as if I'm available and willing to answer questions, and we haven't been trying to hide them all. "

Obama struck a similar tone on the matter last month in his appearance before the White House Correspondents Dinner, during which he joked to the crowd, "Most of you covered me; all of you voted for me, apologies to the Fox table."

Wow another illiterate on this site that has problems with comprehension. Surprise!

He was asked a question and answered it without even pointing out the network. It just happens to be obvious enough to everyone that the interviewer knew it was Fox.

The other instance was during a comedy routine.

So yeah it really sounds like he is whining and crying buckets of tears.

lmao....what you guys don't even realize is that obama affirms the rest of the press is really in his camp and is biased towards him...

fox reports the news and if obama is talking about the pundits on fox, then obama is being a dishonest whiner, as if the other channels don't slam bush or republicans with their pundits....as if the other channels don't report the news in a biased manner against bush and republicans or those who run against obama....

truly laughable that mr. sensitive has to cry about this (ONE channel that he claims doesn't like him out of how many others) in a national interview....

???

is it your claim then that he was not talking about fox?

i don't need the comedy part to back up his whining, i suggest you reread the article.

What makes you think I don't realize that? haha nice illogical jump. Fact is, he still wasn't crying. He was asked a question and vaguely answered it.

How silly. Betchya wish you hadn't started this thread.

I have no problem admitting that an outlet like MSNBC - even in their news coverage - is biased left.

Here's a hack test for you: can you admit that Fox is biased right, even in their news coverage...or no?

Wow you really do have problems with reading comprehension. I'm sorry I was making fun of you. I didn't realize the problem was so serious.

My contention wasn't that he wasn't talking about Foxnews. My contention was that answering a question in an interview isn't whining.

"First of all, I've got one television station entirely devoted to attacking my administration."

This is assumed to be Fox it could well be A certain religious channel....

Fox is a network of TV stations not one tv station like the religious one.

sure they lean right....but to basically whine that they never say anything good about him is plain stupid and petty. do you really think fox is "devoted" solely to attacking his administration? if bush commented everytime news outlets reported news about him in negative slant he would be doing nothing else.

are you saying that fox never reports news about him in a positive manner? that is what obama is basically claiming. further, do you really think it is befitting for the president to whine about it in a national interview? it kind of makes his "joke" previously seem more like the absolute truth of what he really believes.

next time, come up with a real test, not a sissy test

How is answering a question whining?

It isn't like he just goes around whining bringing it up all the time. He was asked a question and responded.

Do you think if Bush was asked the question he would have answered "no all the networks are fair to me"?

I don't think his characterization is inaccurate. I watch Fox & go to their website; you WOULD be hard pressed to find a positive story about him or his admin. He's not saying they don't exist & don't appear once in a while, but it's rare.

And do some googling before you compare him to Bush; Bush & his admin complained about media coverage ALL THE TIME, though I'm sure you didn't characterize it as "whining" then....

you're a moron, the question wasn't about fox news, it was about critical media, all he had to do was say that no, there is media out that is critical, fox news for one. what he said is, fox is the ONLY critical media...you're so dense you can't even see what he is actually saying.

instead, he blatently goes partisan and claims they are ENTIRELY devoted to attacking him. for someone that insults others intelligence, you lack any yourself.

I think Obama is fairly accurate here. I watch Faux news fairly frequently, and I cannot recall a single time when they've painted Obama in a positive light.

please give me links to bush himself.

so fox is the ONLY news that is critical of obama...LOL

as i don't watch or read fox, i cannot dispute your personal claim. but he said they are ENTIRELY devoted to attackign him, do you agree with this?

"what he said is, fox is the ONLY critical media"

Holy cow...you DO have reading comprehension problems.

That is not what he said, or implied.
