I can tell what is pragmatic in this argument.

Reality shows that some Democrats support the idea of removing race from Affirmative Action and using socio-economic indicators. Reality shows that they do not support adding white male to the list.

One is pragmatic because it has far less travel time, much less convincing. But heck, you can go ahead and fight the "good" fight to get yourself on that Affirmative Action list.

Silliness, there are two major parties, you need both to be on your side to get something passed. Rs already are on board with the socio-economic thing, many Ds are as well.

It's far more pragmatic to take the shorter route to success than the one that leads to mockery.

White male individuals will be given equal protection under the law by caucasian and male being added to the protected classes list.
