Sanford on Clinton

My own opinion on this is that affairs are a personal aspect of someone's life, and between them & their spouse.

But what gives with some of these guys? It's always the ones who speak out the loudest about someone else that have the issues. I remember Dan Burton calling Clinton a "scumbag" for the Lewinsky affair, just a few months before it came out that he had fathered a child with his young nanny.

Now, I read that Sanford was one of Clinton's harshest critics:

"I think it would be much better for the country and for him personally (to resign)... I come from the business side. If you had a chairman or president in the business world facing these allegations, he'd be gone."

On Clinton's impeachment: ""I think what he did in this matter was reprehensible... I feel very comfortable with my vote."

I figure he will either resign within a few weeks or try and rough out the rest of his term. He is not allowed to run again for guv.

And yes he is a typical hypocritical right winger.

I've often wondered why republicans wanted the Ten Commandments posted everywhere. They want to make sure they knew the commandment they are breaking and which were still to come.

Dictionary publishers are up in arms over this latest republican dalliance, seems they are forced to revise their latest editions. Synonymous with hypocrite/hypocrisy now has a long required addition: republican.

Related forms:

hyp·o·crit·i·cal·ly, adverb

Synonyms:
deceiver, dissembler, pretender, pharisee, republican.

Republicans in South Carolina have already called for him to resign. He spoke often on the need to hold public officials accountable which is a good thing. Now he has to hold himself accountable.

Not many repugnatcans in the state govt in SC liked the guy.
He is toast in any case even if he tries to stick out the rest of his term.
He will get Zero cooperation from his own party on issues.

The one difference here, Sanford didn't LIE in front of a grand jury and try to obstruct justice....
Like you lefties like to leave out when you say........but it was ONLY a blow job...

That's such an overblown technicality. Did Sanford lie? Did he lie to his consituents...to his office?

Why can't you just admit that this is some pretty easy-to-call hypocrisy?

because that would require some intelligence on her part. that ain't happenin'

I'm not going to admit anything...you all still stood behind Clinton even when he was caught lying and didn't demand he resign...for a blow job...If anything, it's you all who should admit to being a hypocrite..

Might as well say "I'm a hack."

I was embarassed during that scandal; I thought Clinton's behavior was pretty sordid. But, I thought it was private. I also think Sanford's affair is private. I don't think he should resign, unless he's no longer fit for the job.

I just think he's a hypocrite for condemning Clinton for behavior he is engaging in. It's typical. And it's amazing you can't call it for what it is.

I don't need to bother, you all will do it for me...
I attached Clinton because he was MY President, and he was caught lying and trying to obstruct justice.
