USA At Peace. Thank You President Biden!

There has been so much focus on how messy the news has been lately, there is something wonderful happening that is not getting attention.

We are currently pulling out of Afghanistan. We've got troops on the ground as people are being evacuated, and we expect that shortly, we will have no presence there.

The USA is about to be at peace.

Sweet beautiful PEACE!

We won't be fighting any wars anywhere.

Ahhhhhh. How sweet is THAT?!?

Thank you President Biden.

More than talk.

Action.

GOOD Action.

Heroes welcome for our returning soldiers that Trump left to rot in Afghanistan despite promising to return them by Kwanza...

Hello Jarod,

Finally a president who had the balls to pull out!

Thank you President Biden!

Democrats are more willing to do the responsible things which may not seem very good at the time than Republicans.

Democrats are more focused on substance and moral merit.

Republicans are more focused on image and instant gratification perception.

Four straight years of Trump boot-lickers claiming they wanted to get out of Afghanistan pronto, and then dead silence about the accomplishment when it actually happens.

"accomplishment? " ROFL... that's about as delusional as possible
I once accomplished a car wreck - nothing to crow about

If you have any intelligence, you knew years ago a US-backed government was doomed as soon as we left. The accomplishment is ending America's longest war and to stop pretending we can defend people who have no intention of defending themselves.

anyone could pull the plug.
Trump got us down to 2500 and no American killed in 18 months while stalemating the Taliban

In the Doha discussion it was made clear if any American gets killed talks are off.
The Taliban did kill one American and the talks were suspended, and then Trump lost re-election.

But he left a stable AfPak just like he left a stable border for Biden
the new President Fuck Everything Up, come in and does just that on both counts

It's like accomplishing a train wreck - and the condemnation is world wide, not just Republicans

Hello Cypress,

We couldn't save Vietnamese from Vietnamese either.

I was against the Afghanistan War from the beginning.

911 was criminal. The criminals responsible needed to be found and brought to justice. Afghanistan did not pull off 911. It was false bravado to try to go in there to kick a little Muslim butt to appease foolish revenge.

"If you're not with us, then you're with the terrorists" - GWB, trying to justify attacking a country which did not attack us.

How many times were you in a discussion where some conservative wanted to 'turn Afghanistan into glass?'

What a foolish thing to say. Kill a bunch of innocent people for what.

That's only going to create more enemies. And our war did that.

Foolish. Wrong. Bad idea from the start.

So glad to be back at peace.

Not to mention, Afghanistan is so mountainous it is not possible to 'turn it into glass.'

Many MANY valleys would survive. It would not be possible to wipe out everyone in Afghanistan.

Certainly, if enough bombs were used, it couldn't be done without a lot of collateral damage in nearby nations.

It's not like blasts that size, and the accompanying radiation, would simply stop at the border.

DUMB!

Actually according to Wiki, there has been no KIA since 2016.

PoliTalker the PollyAnna and I have one thing in common.
We're both proponents of the "ignore" function.
PollyAnna has had me on ignore from almost as soon as I came aboard the forum.

Although I have possible the largest ignore list on the forum, I keep Pollyanna up and running.

He / she / it reminds me how fortunate I am to not be as innocuous.

There's got to be some sinister Dick Cheney types already trying to figure out how to get us into the next war to buoy their extensive defense contractor holdings.
