Why does Trump only live in Liberal places?

But he was a failure at almost all of his promises. Was he really trying? Or just giving them a show.

I’m telling you, Jarod, you have to talk with these people. Not talk over them or give blank stares formulating what you’re going to say without listening (not saying you do this but it is common), but talk with them and see what they think. In their minds Trump tried harder than anyone to do exactly what he campaigned on but was blocked at most efforts by RINO’s and the left. To steal from Al Gore, it is an inconvenient truth.

Many of us are far past the listening to each other phase. The lines have been drawn and it's simply a matter of who can yell and out insult each other the loudest. We don't want to live near each other and the next logical step is wishing those who think different politically die. You see it on this board and you see it on social media, sadly it's just our reality.

I've had an interesting perspective these past four years because I didn't vote for Hillary, Biden or Trump. So to people on the left I'm still a deplorable and racist. From those on the right I've been called a progressive, a RINO, establishment and a globalist. Being a lifelong Republican I found the RINO charge most interesting as my most fundamental beliefs really haven't changed all that much over the years. I think the main issue is many Republicans supported free trade throughout the decades as well as were more pro immigration. Today many in the base have a different viewpoint on those two issues and that's what Trump ran on. So now people who still hold the traditional more free market beliefs are deemed RINO's.

I absolutely know what you are talking about. It’s like trying to see where the person on the other side is coming from is useless to most for whatever reason. I’m a Blue Dog and get characterized as such negatively but that’s the way of our political climate the last 20 or so years.

For example, check out the OP on this thread: https://www.justplainpolitics.com/s...-To-Texas-For-Fundraiser-Hosted-By-GOP-Donors

To the chagrin of many I’m also a 1 or 2 issue voter. I know it seems silly to most but I figure I can/have survived with tax systems implemented by both conservatives and liberals. I also believe that no matter who is in charge if a fellow follows the rules, stays out of trouble, works hard and lives within his means he will be successful in this country no matter who is president. So I keep coming back to 1, 2 or 3 issues that decide who I’ll vote for.

Tribalism has always existed but it seems like social media and the internet has just pushed it to the next level. It's like you are on this side or that side and there is no room for nuance or anything between. We have a two party system so most of choose between a R and a D in most elections. You and I could vote for the same candidate but for different reasons. Even though we vote for the same candidate we could even have fundamentally different viewpoints on multiple issues. But that often all gets thrown out the window. It's unfortunate.

And yeah, I see what people say to you. It used to upset me but now I just laugh. You're the most salt of the Earth person here and on a board where many people root for the deaths of others I don't recall you being disrespectful to anyone. It is what it is I guess.

It would be in everyone's interest if we could cleanly cut away the MAGA cancer from the civilized society. We don't want them; and they don't want us. Let's just separate. The geography will be the hard part, but I'd be willing to state sponsor them all a plane ticket to Florida, Mississippi, Alabama, Louisiana, or Texas if they want.

We all had the same perspective, the TV set. We all saw the same thing. It was raining outside.
I can say it was raining outside, you are forced to say "that's matter of perspective."

If the turtle can say it, why can't JPP's absolutely most moderate conservative.

Your party's tribalism is why it is the next dodo bird.

I saw a protest that got out of hand. I did not see an “insurrection.” Perspective.

IMO, a true “insurrection” wouldn’t have ended as quickly, peacefully and quietly as that did.

I am not saying you are wrong, and one of the things I agree with these people about is that we need a disrupter, but the thing that excited many (not all) of them was the very thing that made him ineffective. His mental instability and lack of basic humanity.

We need a tough reformer, who really believes in his cause, that has the mental capacity to actually accomplish something.

Biden is a calm slow reformer willing to keep the status quo for very small change, I understand that is the way forward many people believe is the only way, but I think we are ripe for a strong disrupter, but Trump was not the one.

You dont think that if Trump had Tweeted for them to stay and prevent the Congress from certifying the vote, they would have still left?

140 police officers were injured, several people died, and many of the rioters were there specifically to stop a legal vote from taking place acknowledging Joe Biden as president -- they claim at the behest of Trump.

The "protest that got out of hand" manifested itself so as to be prosecutable as an insurrection,
and here's where we learn something from the PRC and Tiananmen Square.

Prosecuting it an an insurrection is the right deterrent move.
That's even more so here than in China
given that we have National Elections every two years to overthrow the government legitimately.

If the "protest that got out of hand" was actually about overturning that legitimate election,
prosecuting it as an insurrection
and imposing the most Draconian consequences possible
is the only appropriate response.

He’s a city boy. Cities are overwhelmingly liberal.

Palm Beach is hardly a city, its smack dab in the middle of sprawling suburbs for hundreds of miles, the only real city anywhere close is Miami about 60 miles to the South.

Palm Beach isn't tobacco road either.
The drive Bentleys and Ferraris if they don't actually have a driver. to drive them.
[Even I have one of those until the wife has had too much Pinot Grigio.]
They don't drive pickups,
so in that respect, it's like a city.

So the type of cars one drives defines the urbanity of a place?

Trump likes to live in places with liberals in charge. He understands they are more comfortable and happier places.

Even an orangutan is smart enough to figure that out.
And yes, I would in fact opine that a Mercedes is more urban than an F150.

So people are stupid to like Trump because he lives in West Palm Beach, FL? Ok.

As you know, its not so simplistic. People fall for who they think he is, and that he really believes in the horse shit he sells. Trump himself knows more liberal places are better to live in, its one example of how he is laughing at those who support him.
