Vax Fanaticism threatens TX hospital

The CEO of a hospital in Texas is cautioning that his facility is facing possible closure following President Biden's announcement last week that healthcare workers will be required to receive the COVID-19 vaccination.

If the mandate takes effect, the Brownfield Regional Medical Center will likely lose 20-25% of its staff, CEO Jerry Jasper says. Without those employees, the hospital will likely shut down.

The Biden administration has ordered that healthcare workers who staff hospitals and facilities that receive either Medicaid or Medicare funds must receive the vaccine or lose federal funding.

Totally predictable and totally needless.

There just isn’t any compelling science which indicates that young healthy people should be vaccinated and a significant portion of healthcare workers are in the young/healthy cohort. The vaccines don’t even stop transmission.

Finally, since it’s known that naturally acquired immunity is actually stronger than artificial immunity, a better course would be to simply allow infected workers to self quarantine and then come back and they would be effectively vaccinated. Better than vaccinated, actually.

Follow the science.

What a shame, it’s a rural facility much needed by its community. It would be a huge loss to the community. I’m sure the locals will understand the hesitancy of the staff to get the jabs as grandma is dying and needs to be flown or driven to the nearest facility.

Grandma would be better served if the Biden administration would follow the damn science. How many grandma’s died last year when they *pointlessly* shut down elective procedures? How many kids turned to drugs or committed suicide when the teachers unions pointlessly kept the schools closed?

Why does it seem like only Covid deaths and morbidity count?

You can’t stick to your own topic, Darth. The closure of this hospital is a shame, and it’s closing because selfish people refuse to get a jab.

I have never heard of "justthenews dot com", could you not find a reputable link?

This sounds like empty threats to me.
Compounded by poor journalism.

No one is required to get jabbed. They have the Freedumb to get tested once a week, in leiu of a jab.

disgusting.
your values count, the front line hospitals workers do not..
..calling health care workers "selfish" who deal with COVID patients is a new low for you

at least once a week. and it's not a fun thing to get a swab shoved up into your sinus
Its not needed. HC workers wear layers of protection

I am getting cataract surgery soon ( they joy of Florida sunshine living) and my doc came into the room yesterday literally wrapped head to toe with robes and a mask and gawd knows what eles

The room was very cold so she could wear all that and not overheat in all that garb.

Dont you think hospitals are capable of dealing with COVID??

It’s a travesty. These hospitals are already financially stressed because Trumpublicans refuse to expand Medicaid. Testing weekly is another financial burden. It’s foolish not to get the jab.

Oh, that's right. Texas is turning down a big pot of Medicaid money because they are still stewing in resentment over Obama.

the theory was not to allow hospitals to be overwhelmed ..that is NOT happening now..
it got close but ICU have learned to cope
Tx has a program where they can transfer from hospital to another with central processing -
so as not to overcrowd.
Florida is a leader of walk Regeneron monoclonal antibodies sites ( STRETCH used one)

The jab is now political

soo you blame DARTH for changing the subject..lol

Expanded MEDICADE is not forever. the feds will pay for a couple years, then the burdens fall on the state
Maybe the Progs will get their reconciliation bill thru and everyone gets free stuff from cradle to grave -
but it aint there now

Texas hospital faces potential closure due to COVID-19 vaccine mandate, CEO says

Just from reading the title of this article anyone with an average intelligence should be able to see that this is fake news.

This is a better article. If you read carefully, you'll see why there's a nursing shortage, and it has nothing to do with vaccines. Nurses are leaving hospital employment to join staffing agencies, who pay far more. This has been a problem for decades, not just now.

The vaccine thing is just being used as an excuse not to pay staff better.

I am think in the middle of the worst pandemic in a century, it is a public duty to get vaccinated.

One takeaway from the California recall election is that in most states, Democrats have learned that running against Trump and punishing the unvaccinated is politically beneficial.

It's hard to believe that there are health care workers who care so little for their patients that they won't protect them by protecting themselves.

I still think the jab + acquired immunity is the way to go. but no boosters.
Boosters are just more mRNA for the alpha spike protein.

But that'smy decision based on what I know - other have other decisions.
We also know getting vaxxed per se doesn't mean you dont transmit ( as I know it)

So thinking the vaxx is life or death around you is wrong headed, and a fascist move.
Do I not own my own body? Can I not decide what to jab in it?

The title was designed to spread right wing propaganda is the point that I was making, and I'm not at all surprised that there's really nothing behind these sensationalized headlines; this is the typical way that these questionable news site operate.

It's hard to believe that there are health care workers who care so little for their patients that they won't protect them by protecting themselves.
so you get vaxxed and you dont transmit?? Hospitals are designed not to pass on communicable disease, and they know how to practice medicine not to transmit
