good grief, the man was journalist..that's all..

A journalist who reported the news. And did not sensationalize them.
Execpt of a touch in clearly stated commentaries at the end of his broadcast if I remember correctly.

Unlike now where it is impossible to seperate news from sensationalism and opinions.

Are you actually suggesting that Nixon was innocent?

He committed crimes against the US Constitution that make what you rant about Obama doing look like squeezing the toothpaste tube in the middle. And you want to call it biased to call Nixon a criminal?

You use an anonymous post on Yahoo Answers (anyone can post there) as proof that Cronkite was biased in his reporting, and want to claim Nixon wasn't a criminal??
Another straw man by Solitary. *shrug*

The statement by an anonymous poster on yahoo is not even close to proof.

It compared the treatment of Nixon to the treatment of Clinton. But, in case you missed it, Cronkite was retired when Clinton was elected president, so he was no part of that bullshit. There is no way to say he would have gone easier on Clinton.
As per my earlier link that you ignored:
after the Tet Offensive... Cronkite went on air and declared, "It seems now more certain than ever that the bloody experience of Vietnam will end in a stalemate,"

LOL - no way, Southern Man requires the telepathic wingnut nonsense to be sent to the receptor in his empty head, and then he posts it regardless of source. They could have told him anything and his response would be the anything. You should read his posts on the days when the weather is bad, and reception bad, the poor fool is lost.
The Southern Man repeats his challenge to prove your earlier accusation, Liberal. *shrug*

But......but......but......Slappyjk said on Yahoo Answers that he was a liberal!!

lol

Well said, Mott.

You know what homeboy Mott I've spent this past week in the best state in the Union. I spent the first part of the week in Columbus with my dying Grandma and it was her son, my uncle, who got sniped in Nam and my Grandma, who voted for Obama, talked to me back when about the Tet Offensive when I asked her. So I now know the story is controversial but don't come at my family as uniformed. That's on the real Mott.

Regards towards your Grandma and my sympathies.

I can't back off here nor am I attacking you or your family. First, your not the only one who lost friends or family in Nam. I lost a friend there too, also by a sniper (he was a medic). I'll stand by my comments. To argue that Cronkite unduly influenced or undermined the the war in Vietnam is incorrect and it is uninformed. Cronkite merely informed the American public of the truth, that this war was unwinable and as I've said, history vindicated Cronkite. Need I also mention that in 1968 and prior to Tet, the American public had all ready turned against the war in Nam.

BTW, if you're going to be in CMH again drop me a PM. Maybe we can hook up for a Thurman Burger and a Leinenkugel.

Unlike the pitiful excuses that pass for neocon "anchors" like Limpballs and Shammity, Mr. Cronkite was widely respected, and his opinions happened to be correct. We should be grateful that he was able to influence so many for so long.

Was the Faux News robot editorializing when he said ""We keep marrying other species and ethnics "?
