(Naturally, because Tucker Carlson told them liberals were 'destroying America.')

I really feel sorry for them that they became so misled that they did this and now they screwed up their lives.

It was very funny that they did all this, and actually thought they had accomplished their purpose, obstructed Congress, kept Biden from being certified as fully elected, got told to go home by Trump, and then after they left, Congress came right back and went right ahead with their task.

After all that, all they managed to do was delay the certification for a few hours. And Biden became president right on time, without one second of delay on Jan 20th. The first president since President Carter to be sworn in without the outgoing president peacefully handing over power in person.

The people can be armed so they can form a well-regulated militia (meaning government regulated) if needed to defend the country from outside invaders. We were never to have a standing army because the big fear was it could be used like police to violate privacy, barge into homes unannounced. Like the British did to the colonists.

We would have no army, and simply let people be armed so they could be gathered into an army if needed to defend the nation from outside aggressors. That was the plan. That was the reason for the second. It was never intended to give the people the right to rise up against the government in an armed insurrection.

We should make some changes to the right to bear arms. It has gotten completely out of hand. The founders never intended to enable mass shootings. Why would they do that? That's dumb.

Neither is an insurrection. Ours is a nation of laws. There's process. Lying and claiming the process is flawed because they don't like the results is not sufficient reason to break the law and harm others.

TBH, I think most, if not all, of those fucking morons are truly mentally ill. IIRC, 2/3s of those arrested had previously reported mental health issues. However, since our nation has very little medical or legal support for mental health issues, second best is to lock them up in prison.

Exactly. Taxpayers are paying, IIRC, about $30K/year for prisoners. Taxpayers earning $30K/year as a productive citizen are the better way to go.

Well here's the rub. Despite the fact that we've got a lot of people locked up, there are a lot more mental cases on the loose. How much would it cost to treat them all before they get into trouble, and how would that get paid for?
