Yep, Mayor Lori Lighthead, or Lightfoot, or whatever that fool's name is is in a bad mood. Seems that somewhere upwards of 3,000 of her police force are refusing to get vaccinated and likely will be put on unpaid leave then fired come Monday.

She's freaking out that the police department will be crippled and can't understand why so many officers are refusing. She calls it an "insurrection." Sounds to me more like a strike that is protesting her idiotic handling and edicts of police action.

Massive debt with no plan (or hope really) of dealing with it is just one of the ways we know that Chicago is dying. The disfunction, the refusal to confront realty, reminds me a lot of how Detroit died.

I do believe it was the head of the police Union that referred to it as an "insurrection," but regardless, makes little sense given the realities of the job

My bad, just that the Union guy has said some really dumb stuff before, as viewing January 6th events as "there’s no, obviously, violence in this crowd" (https://www.chicagotribune.com/news...0210107-idno2frly5bprdkil33d5u2cdm-story.html)

And the real relevance is the rate of police officers passing from Covid (https://www.odmp.org/search/year?year=2021), leading cause of death among policemen last year, seems the Union chief doesn't have their best interests in his mind when he advices them to go on strike
