How many National Guard are going to quit because of this pull? How many National Guard will be fired for not having a vaccine. If you expect the National Guard to be police they'll have to have training for that. If you expect them to act like soldiers, their use as police will likely end badly.

How will pulling National Guard from their civilian jobs impact the companies and businesses they are pulled from? How will impact readiness of these units for their primary mission?

The only suitable Illinois NG unit for this mission is the 33rd Military Police Battalion that is mostly staffed by police officers in civilian life...

Not a solution...

The Guard follows the DoD requirements for vaccination, dumbfuck. The Guard has acted in policing-type duties many times in many places, too, dumbfuck.

The Guard was deployed several times for years in the wars. You never shit your pants over that, did you, dumbfuck?

The National Guard is a volunteer force. You can quit if you have your base time in service in (4 years). You would be discharged if you refused the vaccine too leaving units short on personnel. If you have 20 or more years you can retire in day if you really want.

Aside from that, the NG normally has only been used as police if the unit is trained as police. That means if the unit doesn't have that training, they receive it before being sent to do policing. When a NG or Reserve unit is deployed for active duty, they follow a sequence to put the people where needed. One of the things checked off is that the unit is trained to do whatever they're going to be doing.

You obviously have never served in the military and don't have a fucking clue what you're talking about.

Yep, you can quit. If you’re active, you adhere to DoD vaccine requirements. Period

Once your initial enlistment or contract period of duty as an officer is up, you can quit--even on active duty. The military will list on your DD 214 that you are ineligible for reenlistment, but you can quit. The only persons who can't outright quit are junior enlisted and officers on that first period of service.

Sure, they have. What they can't do is law enforcement. They don't have arrest powers like police. Instead, they do things like shoot looters and such. And, in those situations, they supplemented law enforcement, they didn't replace it.

That doesn't mean the governor has to. The mayor has to request the NG, and the governor has to approve it.
