OTOH, if Rittenhouse hadn't brought a gun to a fist fight, lied about his age, lied about his skills and crossed state borders to inject himself into a city protest then he wouldn't be on trial for murder.

Long enough to kill two unarmed Americans and maim a third.

Why was he away from the main group of white supremacist militia vigilantes? How long was he alone on the street out there?

Agreed on alone. However, provoking then murdering and endangering are crimes.

Kyle had a fair trial and I'm confident that the results will also be fair.

What did he do to provoke anyone?

He may have and they may be but it wasn't well prosecuted so if he's found no guilty there should only be outrage at the prosecution.

Didn't you listen to the trial? That's what the jury has to decide.

Meh. There's always some fucking group of assholes somewhere ready to make a stink about it no matter how it turns out. The solution is the same: let them protest peacefully then take down anyone who violates the law.

Personally, I think it'd be a good idea for all cities and towns to beef up their sniper squads.

Like many protests, there is always some group that has their own agenda and is pushing for violence. With drone tech, more public security cameras and facial recognition software, it is easier to identify and track multiple threats.

Overseas, we don't have assets on the ground in all cases and a Hellfire is much easier, but that can cause problems. It certainly can't be used in the US. AFAIK, police aircraft can't be armed and I suspect that goes for drones too....although a well placed slug from 1500 feet up could save the day. LOL

Regardless of the tech, a cadre of snipers for each city's police force should be implemented since I don't see these terrorist attacks stopping anytime before November 2024.

You didn't tell me what he did. What we know is people threatened him. He protected himself.

I think once you light a match or break a window you are no longer considered to be peacefully protesting and therefore surrender your safety to the hands of others. Period.

Google is your friend on the prosecution's case but the short version is that Kyle injected himself in the area and provoked others to attack him with words and deeds (pointing a weapon). Regardless if you look or not it's in the jury's hands.

What do you have against smokers and candle light vigils? Agreed on destruction of property. That's why the Insurrectionists are getting their asses hammered weekly in court.
