A one question poll.
DO NOT MISS YOUR CHANCE TO CAST YOUR VOTE:
This is your chance to vote on Obama's performance on this Economy-AT&T/Yahoo Poll.... NOTE: this is a totally unbiased poll. The question is stated very simply... and, to the point. No tricks. No hidden messages. No nothing. JUST A SINGLE, SIMPLE QUESTION. There is no way that anyone can say that it was not a fair poll... or, that it was "phrased" in a way that it can be interpreted later... to fit someone else's desired answer. In other words... it is a spin-doctor's "nightmare."

Online polls have absolutely no validity, even if you couldn't vote multiple times.

I should have checked that out before posting it.

That said, validity for what? To get a feel for peoples attitude? Or validity as a scientific poll? The latter I agree the former I disagree.

That's actually my favorite part of this thread, where you seem okay w/ an online poll, but then as soon as it's shown that people can vote multiple times, it's out the window.

Online polls don't tell us anything. At all.

It can show a "general attitude" of how people feel about the issue raised. Obviously it is specific to persons who use online services, which nowadays are quite a few. I agreed that it is not scientific. There is a huge difference between getting an idea about how people are generally "feeling" and a scientific study using specific precursors such as "likely voters" VS "unlikely voters" when looking for political polling data.

Well yes it does. It tells us that the majority of people who voted on this poll aren't real happy with Obama.

Now whether that means anything to you personally is up for grabs. Gallup still has a ways to go to catch up to this percentage, but the fact of the matter is, Obama's sliding.

No big news here.

"Slip Sliding Away"

*hopeful look*

Wow. It's amazing how stupid you can be if you've never gone to college.

Online polls are the most useless thing ever. No, they can't give you a general feel for how people feel about someone's job performance that reflects anything useful.

The problem is that it excludes people who aren't on the internet, people who don't frequent certain sites, and it is heavily weighted to whomevers most passionate/obsessive about a subject. That's how Ron Paul could get 70% in every poll - all his supporters would keep updated and flock to the newest poll, where others didn't care nearly so much.

For instance, all the right wing nut jobs see it, come in their pants, and go around to every message board to post about it and tell other nut jobs to vote as well. It's worse than a convenience sample.

Good job we don't have anyone like that here.
