read an 8th grade biology book. when a legal discretionary abortion is performed, there is no human being involved except the mother. the fetus is not a functioning conscious sentient human being at that point.

"Virtue" is what was practiced for eons by women of character. Those that lacked that "virtue" were the ones called "prostitutes", or "whores". Been that way since the beginning. Men have always been the "sluts" of the earth just as a male dog seeks a bitch in heat, or he buck seeks the doe, etc. It is a trait that insures the continuance of the race including that of humans. With the introduction of abortions all of that has changed. Sex now has as its primary component pleasure, not propagation. And there are now attempts being made to insure the sex of the child, etc. In fact, a woman can now get pregnant without having sex, and even deliver the child without childbirth.

Having said all of that, and digressing from the topic, one has to consider just what is a "Christian". Is it one that obeys the tenets of man while ignoring the tenets of God, or is it just the opposite? According to the teachings of Christ it is to obey the teachings of God. But according to you, and others like you such as diesel, it is just the opposite.

What an amazing and misogynist revision of history. You are talking, of course, of the beliefs of one tiny segment of the human race -- western, Xtian, culture. You are not speaking of humans as a whole. You may call this truth "irrational;" it does not change its correctness regarding human behavior and belief systems. I'd suggest taking one or more anthropology courses, along with at least one biology course, before you spout off about your religion-driven nonsense about the sexes.

Other than during rape, sex has *always* been about pleasure. Why would orgasms be intensely pleasurable were it not so? Why do some twisted religions seek to deprive women of that pleasure, some even going so far to remove the tissue responsible? Sex is pleasurable; evolution gave us that because human children take so very long to mature; raising them requires more than just a mother. Pleasurable sex and love form a bond that keeps the man and woman together.

Male mammals, including humans, have a vested interest in their offspring; we were wired that way by evolution. You know that males of many species will kill the young of other males in order to mate with and propagate their own genes. Human males do the same thing, sometimes. We call that murder in our species. Human males have taken it a step further and assigned negative character traits to women who enjoy sex. You yourself call them whores and sluts. Only males who are insecure about themselves and about their relationship with their partner think that way.

It is easy to see that you feel threatened, you and other males like you, by women in the modern world. It frightens you that we can go to university and enter careers that were formerly male-only. We can be pilots, surgeons, scientists, journalists, CEOs, moms, wives, coders, astronauts, and carpenters. Few of those things were available to women when I was in h.s. We can choose when or if to have children. We can choose our own mates, or no mate because we don't need mates for financial reasons anymore. We are free to love who we wish, just like males are and have been. We're not your chattel anymore. We are your lovers and your partners and your equals. Both of our genders are liberated and free of that silliness you are espousing.

Your religious claptrap about virtuous and slutty women reminds of how the Fundies try to twist the Bible into backing up their belief in Creationism. Science makes both fall on their faces.

The National September 11th Memorial and Museum is not private property.
