Nancy Pelosi: 'I'm a fan of disruptors'

:clink:

Froggie is like me she will be true to herself no matter how she is registered.
Of course I am in no way lowering Froggie to my level with that statement

I think you've got it!

Lower away, I don't mind. There are some who think I am a libernut! No matter what I post!

I am currently registered Republican so I can vote in the primary for the least destructive republican candidate for Bunnings seat in the spring.

which has a linkage. Ron Pauls son is running on the republican ticket for that seat.
He is a DR. and I have a problem with a DR. giving up medicine for politics.
To me it says that they are just in medicine for the money.
imho some professions are more of a calling. Medicine, teaching as a couple.

Dude, you are a partisan Democrat who registers as a Republican because somehow you think it will help the Democrats.

Froggie registering as a Libertarian has nothing to do with trying to help one of the two big parties win. She's doing it on principle. You sir, are not.

I register as a republican to try and keep the worst republicans out of office. Thereby helping my state and country.
I think both parties suck but that the republicans are just more dangerous to America.

You have your opinion and I have mine. Yours is just plain wrong though :D

ps I thought you had me on ignore?

Here's a video from Pelosi at a anti-war townhall meeting in 2006 in San Francisco. My point is not to say Pelosi has a double standard or is a hypocrite. It's more that I think most of us while having some principle will also say one thing at one time when it suits us well and something else at another time when it suits us well.

There are plenty of calls of 'liberal hypocricy' or 'conservative hypocricy' and they're usually both right. Who isn't a hypocrite at some point though?

Alright, I'll shut up now. Never to early to prep for Friday's Happy Hour.

i think you're being to kind.....this isn't really just a minor example of any ol' hypocrisy....this is about freedom of speech in this country. yelling, disrupting "protesters" against the war are welcomed....the same against obama are a mob.

i know i am fairly new to politics, but i am not aware of any such gross hyprocrisy by the repubs. this video showed exactly what many of those who are opposed, to the so called h/c reform from obama, are talking about. it is ok to protest as long it is against republicans......

this video is actually shocking. unless someone has such a blatent hypocritical moment from the repubs on making your voice heard, i say again.....you're being to kind.

meadowmuffins.....you rarely, if ever, say anything negative about the dems, while constantly bashing the repubs.....

you're as transparent as casper

"unless someone has such a blatent hypocritical moment from the repubs on making your voice heard"

Where were you from 2003 - 2008?

Calling anti-war protesters traitors and terrorist sympathizers became the equivalent of saying "have a nice day." Let's not even start with the boycotts over people merely expressing their opinion.

Pelosi's an idiot, and she shouldn't be Speaker.

I don't like "disruptors" anywhere. Let's get opinions out there, let's have a friggin' debate.

How can people defend simply drowning people out?

Oh - and you fools who defend some of the current wave of "disruptors" are just as hypocritical as Pelosi.

The tones of these disruptions are a lot different than any anti-war or anti-Bush protesting. People are showing up to these events with guns and armed with complete misinformation. How in the world do you communicate with a bunch of crazies that truly believe that Obama wants to enact "Death Panels"?

Not to mention the fact that politicians are receiving death threats with regularity if they support the measures. This isn't a show of democracy, these are nothing more than thugs.

When was the last time the right was on the side of the truth?

WMD's, Saddam was behind 9/11, Obama wants "death panels" - it's all the same. You don't like it? We'll threaten your livelihood, or your life. It's always about intimidation, and shutting people up; it's never about actually winning in the realm of ideas.

the tone is worse my ass...the anti-war protesters camped out on President Bush's lawn for months, disrupted Senate hearings running up to the Sec. of State with fake blood on their hands...carried signs during protest telling the troops to shoot their commanders, not people...you all just keep trying to make yourselves out to be saints...

these town halls are not violent, except when they ship in the Union members, they are loud because for the last six months they have been told, we won so sit down and shut up...the Democrats have put us in so much dept already, our grand-kids are going to be paying it...and they tried to shove this hostile take over of our health care without letting the citizens seeing anything that was in it...
the genie is out of the bottle now, and I don't think it's going back in...deal with it..

You know how TV loves a ruckus. But what you haven’t seen, because it’s not as exciting, are the many constructive meetings going on all over the country.

When President Roosevelt was working to create Social Security, opponents warned it would open the door to federal snooping and force Americans to wear dog tags. When President Kennedy and President Johnson were working to create Medicare, opponents warned of socialized medicine. Sound familiar?

There are legitimate differences worthy of the real discussion that America deserves, one where we lower our voices, listen to one another, and talk about differences that really exist.

well a little too late now...you should of told your party that from the get go..Instead the Hugo shouts at us.." I WON "

These people aren't 'crazies' because they carry a gun. Stop being a hoplophobe. Secondly, if you want to counter the 'misinformation', then do so by having the rep read the entirety of the bill and explain EXACTLY what the 1,000+ pages entails. If the rep cannot or will not do that, then he has no business promoting the legislation.

Not to mention the fact that politicians are receiving death threats with regularity if they support the measures. This isn't a show of democracy, these are nothing more than thugs.
When the reps refuse to listen and continue to support legislation that their constituents as a majority do not want, then democracy is already over. At that point, let the thuggery begin.

yeah, cause the left never fucking tries to intimidate or shut people up.

wtf are you smoking or shoveling?

Based on what you know about these debates, you tell me. In which group were you more likely to get a death threat?

Anti-war or Pro-war
Anti-health bill or Pro-health bill

Take your time.

Democrat talking point. read it in the news already. you're also full of shit.

and it took threatening the supreme court with the destruction of america by packing the courts for them to relent. hooray for democracy.
