And now we see that Rogan uses racist references.

The man obviously has zero concern over saying offensive things, zero concern about hurting others with words; for profit.

In fact, that's how he has made his living, with 'blue comedy.'

His livelihood has depended on making fun of others. He exploits those shallow minds who take pleasure at the detriment of others. He makes jokes out of thinking less of other people, disrespecting them.

It is a shallow laughter which comes at the expense of others.

For profit. Exactly; it's all about the money. Media thrives on sex, violence and controversy. Howard Stern helped push forward "shock jocks". Rush made $600M playing off RW fears. Tucker is doing the same. Why should Rogan be any different?

Joe Rogan is worth about $100M. Not bad for a mediocre stand up comedian. Notice that Joe bent over backwards to save his millions. He'll say anything for profit just like Tucker.

Rogan seems to want that elusive thing that disgusting people cannot have: respect.

If you make you living by being disrespectful it's kind of hard to pretend there is any respect in doing that just because you have been effective at it and it has been lucrative for you.

The Pope would disapprove of Rogan.

He’s buying his respect….which is all some people want. Seriously. I doubt Rogan cares about anything except his bank account. Tucker is the same; selling out his country for profit.

Selling out America is very popular with the right.

They take the country for granted.

Hello Dutch,

Too many Americans are taking it for granted, hence all the authoritarianism being pushed by the radicals.

They seem to think America is unbreakable, that they can push things in any direction, test any boundary, bounce off any guardrail, remove any guardrail, and the nation will survive anything thrown at it.

It's just mind boggling.

Instead of trying to take what we have and improve it for everybody, they are looking to trash traditions, trash protections, and just set it up to favor them. Which, of course, includes a lot of hatred and social selectivism. (If I may create a word for it)

IMO, it's an indication of low education, low civic morality and low mental capacity.

Hello Dutch,

The troubling part is how popular it is.

But nobody ever said politics was easy.

Low education. The US has some of the best schools in the world, but those schools aren't spread evenly. 92% of all school funding is local/State. Mississippi has kids sharing old textbooks and Beverly Hills HS gives out iPads. Who will have the most educated voters over the years?

Low civic morality goes back to our schools and elimination of the draft. There was no other means to educate Americans into a united nation of States. Now they just think of beating the other guy.

Low mental capacity can inversely correlate with tendencies toward violence. https://www.aacap.org/AACAP/Familie...Behavior-In-Children-and-Adolescents-055.aspx

Numerous research studies have concluded that a complex interaction or combination of factors leads to an increased risk of violent behavior in children and adolescents. These factors include:

  • Previous aggressive or violent behavior
  • Being the victim of physical abuse and/or sexual abuse
  • Exposure to violence in the home and/or community
  • Being the victim of bullying
  • Genetic (family heredity) factors
  • Exposure to violence in media (TV, movies, etc.)
  • Use of drugs and/or alcohol
  • Presence of firearms in home
  • Combination of stressful family socioeconomic factors (poverty, severe deprivation, marital breakup, single parenting, unemployment, loss of support from extended family)
  • Brain damage from head injury

If all those things are factors, why have you cherry picked only the ones which support your contention that is it low education?

If it's all of those factors, it's all of them. Not just low education. Parenting/upbringing are probably bigger factors than education.

Not all low educated people are mentally ill. People who have a strong desire to learn will do so. It's the dumbasses who think they learned everything they need to know in HS...and they learned it from a shitty HS.

Agreed on upbringing which goes to morality and problems such as inbreeding.

The desire to learn must be nurtured through good parenting. One of the biggest problems in cross-generational poverty is parents telling children they will never amount to anything, that life is pretty much hopeless. Then you have a kid who doesn't even try to learn because he/she doesn't even believe in himself/herself.

Agreed, but since the only qualifications to being a parent are completing an act of sexual intercourse, is it really a mystery why so many kids are screwed up and grow to become screwed up adults?

What is the solution?

Agreed that nurturing is required in raising a child, but 1) too many parents don't know how to parent and 2) our schools have been gutted to the point where they are disallowed from nurturing those same children.

Well that comment gave me an idea.

Since a) parenting doesn't come with a manual, and b) children of bad parents grow up to be bad parents, and c) our schools need to improve, then d) one of the improvements in our schools should be the inclusion of teaching students how to be good parents.

I would like to see schools impress upon students the life-changing repercussions of having children in the first place. Too many people have children before they know what they are getting into. That ruins a lot of lives. America could use a lot fewer ruined lives.

Agreed but that gets into religious concerns such as handing out condoms to kids.

OTOH, my gym has a daycare center in the mornings for moms attending classes. In summer and on weekends they used teenagers to take care of the kids, which is common in all the churches around here for two reasons:
1. Putting the teens to work to give the parents a break.

2. "Christian Birth Control": let teens learn taking care of kids isn't fun for two hours much less 24/7. LOL
