"Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan presently dominates the market for heath coverage."

http://www.mlive.com/business/west-michigan/index.ssf/2009/08/bronson_deal_fills_market_gap.html

"Michigan: State Attorney General Mike Cox (R) on Thursday filed a petition to stop a proposed rate increase by the not-for-profit Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan for more than 400,000 individual policyholders, the Detroit Free Press reports. The average proposed rate hikes would be 56% for non-elderly Michigan residents buying their own insurance; 42% for policyholders with group conversions; and 31% for seniors with Medigap policies."

"BCBS of Michigan has tentatively agreed to raise rates for 200,000 people by 22%. Originally the insurance provider wanted to raise costs up to 56%, but Attorney General Mike Cox challenged the move."

"Blue Cross is still trying to get approval of a 31-percent increase in supplemental coverage."

"Blue Cross has a $2.4 billion surplus, but earlier this year a judge ruled that the insurance company should not have to tap into that to offset rate hikes."

Please produce your evidence that "the government" is proposing to "take control" of the health care system.

Then, if it's not too much effort, specify the number of uninsured children you'd feel comfortable with.

Where did you get the idea that the government is poised to take control of the health industry?

Still thinking about that acceptable number of uninsured children?

are taxes going to go up when the government takes over the health industry?.....are medical bills going to go up when the government takes over the health industry?....

are taxes going to go up when the government takes over the health industry?.....are medical bills going to go up when the government takes over the health industry?....

That's the great unanswered question isn't it?

And it won't get answered anytime soon since the Government has no plans to "take over the health industry".

Now if you can prove otherwise...

If there is any doubt your taxes are not going to go up...

Obama says taxes will pay for health care

Liz Sidot, Associated Press

(08-15) 04:00 PDT Belgrade, Mont. --

Trying to lower the heat of the health care fight Friday, President Obama denounced media emphasis on angry protests at town hall meetings.

Fielding polite but occasionally tough questions, Obama pitched his overhaul plan to a crowd in an airport hangar near Bozeman.

While hundreds demonstrated outside, Obama got a pointed question from Randy Rathie, a self-described member of the National Rifle Association.

"You can't tell us how you're going to pay for this," Rathie said of Obama's health care plan. "The only way you're going to get that money is raise our taxes."

"You are absolutely right," Obama said. "I can't cover another 46 million people for free. We're going to have to find money from somewhere."

The president has been very forthcoming about raising taxes on the wealthy. I doubt that includes you.

The president has been very forthcoming about raising taxes on the wealthy. I doubt that includes you.

But less so about the increases on the less than $250k, which everyone knows is required.

Sure they will, just look at how good the U.S. post office is running.
That particular one made me laugh. UPS and FedEX are specifically regulated out of the USPS market. They cannot deliver to your mailbox, it is illegal. And it is that portion of the USPS that is killing them. 1/4 of the mail, still the same amount of mail boxes in NYC, still the same amount of people needed to deliver it...
